Range for AWD Cybertruck 200-250 miles after many real world tests

That’s because it’s almost all downhill from the top of the pass Gorman to Santa Clarita. You go from 3800’ to 1200’.

    Universal Wall Connector questions

I have purchased 20 ea. wall connectors. I believe there is only one universal wall connector from Tesla. It came out just before the CT. Around October 2023. I am almost certain that is the one that supports bidirectional charging.

    Cybertruck Range: Losing the Story

My first job out of high school was at the local hobby shop. RC cars and planes etc. I have always been mechanical so it was super fun. Lithium batteries and brushless motors were early in their adoption in the RC world but they were quickly showing how electric RC stuff was becoming as cool as...

Tesla Inductive Charging Pad (wireless) is in development!

What high tech infrastructure are you seeing people pay for in the streets? People aren't paying for it. The highest tech infrastructure I am seeing are traffic camera systems. Not private vehicle induction charging equipment. Remember the recent huge failure where they tried to implement...

Tesla Inductive Charging Pad (wireless) is in development!

Most facilities are vastly underpowered to handle the imminent wave of EVs coming. I am working on large new builds around LA and some cities see it and have high EV charging requirements. Recently a 230 unit new apartment complex with some mixed use grocery and office space had requirements for...

Tesla Inductive Charging Pad (wireless) is in development!

I work a lot with city infrastructure. I am working to install a new intersection now. Cities are so outdated and behind the current technology its incredible. Just tying in new street lighting is often very complex. Finding the transformer and getting power and controls to the lighting etc. and...

Tesla Inductive Charging Pad (wireless) is in development!

Thats the same with a cable charger. The cable charger and an induction charger have very similar constraints. Almost anywhere you can put an induction pad you can put a wall connector on a pedestal.

Tesla Inductive Charging Pad (wireless) is in development!

So the city is going to just install them in the street? City wide roll out coming in 2075. I think for the first 5 years it will mostly be people that can afford a $2500 charger vs. a $500 charger installing them in their garages and driveways because they don't want to have to physically make...

For those of us with solar (non-Tesla) and no powerwall, how do we take advantage of Powershare?

Ok, so I think I am correct. I just dug further into the powershare details. See below. See the Installation equipment is exactly what I listed. It looks like in the recent Powerwall 3 installations they are getting rid of the gateway and integrating the smarts directly into the powerwall. So...

For those of us with solar (non-Tesla) and no powerwall, how do we take advantage of Powershare?

No one knows how Tesla is going to do it yet. It’s very likely that you are going to need the Tesla gateway which acts as a transfer switch and main communication hub. They gateway will cut power to the utility to ensure you don’t put power back on the grid during an outage which is illegal...

For those of us with solar (non-Tesla) and no powerwall, how do we take advantage of Powershare?

One good thing about this V2H trend is that people will have to learn more about electricity or spend a ton of money separating an emergency panel.

For those of us with solar (non-Tesla) and no powerwall, how do we take advantage of Powershare?

I think you will need the tesla gateway. It’s very likely the wall connector will not allow you to manually switch to backfeed mode if it senses no utility power. The gateway will talk to the connector snd say it’s ok to backfeed, I shut off the main. The absolute simplest and cheapest way would...

Powershare compatible wall charger - Tesla Universal Wall Connector in online shop

Man! are you running a pot farm or a welding shop. I have a hard time believing that you can actually use that much solar, unless its all pointed north and you live in alaska.

Powershare compatible wall charger - Tesla Universal Wall Connector in online shop

Also the new powerwall from tesla which recently came out is really slick. as it combines the battery and inverter in one system. i believe you still need their backup gateway to have the transfer switch. I bet to use the new bidirectional charger as emergency power tesla will sell people the...

Powershare compatible wall charger - Tesla Universal Wall Connector in online shop

I also just bought 2 of those universal chargers a month ago (back when they were $450). I would be surprised if they are different because they only started shipping them in October. For anyone interested, they are almost identical to the NACS wall connector. The difference is they are probably...

Powershare compatible wall charger - Tesla Universal Wall Connector in online shop

I have installed 20 Tesla Chargers. They want a 60 amp breaker to pull the full 48 amps. It asks you when you set up the charger how many amps the breaker is. If you tell it 50, it might not let you pull the full 48 amps. You could probably tell it 60 and see if you have any issues with it...

    Hacking the range extender

You have no proof they are battery constrained. Or tgst they won’t be able to match the battery supply with the ramp. The truck is coming out next year. The two largest battery producers in the world are building plants to produce the 4680 next year.
