PREDICTION: Cybertruck Accessory = Wireless Charging

The Wiferian technology used magnet coupling (I think that is what they called it, might have been magnetic resonance). Unless the cat has a metal implant, probably save, but would assume the pad would be 4-6 inches tall and once the CT drops to entry height, not sure there would be much room...

4680 Battery Cells Storage system video shot inside Giga Austin.

I have seen industrial shelving hold turbines, transmissions, and other dense metal… Got o your local metal shop that sells c and square tube steel, look how they store them… industrial shelving can handle a lot of weight and with all of that cross bracing and re-enforced shelves, I bet those...

Tesla supplier CATL announces new MP3 battery with 430 miles of range

How can you claim range without the vehicle that battery will be in? Aerodynamics, weight, rolling resistance, how it is driven, where it is driven, etc… so many variables… nC battery charging is very interesting. I hope it works as expected and does not shorten the life of the battery.

Hotel charging will be frustrating for a while.

So, you assume to get the Cybertruck by 2025... 1.5 to 2 years from now... There might be a dozen charging locations along your route by then, or possibly a few... 2 years from now? Shoot, who knows what crazy changes might have happened in that time frame? I would just assume if it is...

    Need to double charger network

The belief that Elon’s wealth is some pile of Scrudge McDuck money that he can throw at things is very common… but I think incorrect, as far as I know, the majority of his calculated wealth is based on the value of stock and private companies, not giant bank accounts… And Elon’s money is not...

Not a good look for Tesla: diversion team tactics to deal with range complaints

Scroll to the bottom of the article, but to help you out, here: Yes, Customer Service is hard to get right 100% of the time and maybe Tesla has not been great at this... But this story is scrapping up scraps of complaints that are so common with ICE no one talks about it at all, just like ICE...

I'd like it if Elon went back to free supercharging for Teslas.

I came to point out the numbers of non-Tesla's being sold, but you got there first.

Charging networks won't be solved by NACS

Letting other EVs into the Supercharging network will be a huge help for those EVs, as it means they do not have to rely on the poorly maintained chargers that seem to be all to common. Yes, it is a subset of those chargers, but still... has to be better than the sharp stick in the eye the...

Cyber cell is ready; no more range anxiety.

I will be happy with 350 mile range, because 2 hours is long enough to take a 20 minute break. I am hoping that will be all wheel drive 2 motor with rear wheel steering, but... I am in the 500k neighborhood, so I have a couple of years for all the kinks and rough edges to be smoothed out. ;)

Cybertruck Range Prediction + Cell Calculation + More [Sources]

Cybertruck unveiling was Nov 2019. Battery day was 10 months later, Sept 2020. The magazine could have been told about a pack stacking the smaller cells, before they realized they decided on a larger cell (4680). And the structural battery pack is made 'solid' thanks to the resin foam... So I...

    Charging on longer towing trips

I am hoping with Rivian, Ford, and soon Tesla and others, that trailer manufacturers will realize that they need to make their trailers fit within the shadow of the tow vehicle better, be more aerodynamic, and definitely work putting the air back behind them (drag). Most trailers are literally...

    Solid State Battery Hype Train

Saying that something structural in a car cannot be replaced makes no sense to me. If enough vehicles get made that there is a market for it, someone will make them. There are lots of Leaf and Prius battery replacement companies (though mostly on the west coast). Friends of mine with a crazy...

Where will Tesla get 4680 batteries for the CyberTruck in 2024?

10 million battery cells from Austin… Think they are getting cell production dialed in…

Cybertruck Predictions - Battery Size & Range!

This news article from 2013 talks about pickup trucks topping over $70k. In the 10 years since, prices have not gone down. I do think they could sell trucks for over $70k... and maybe even over 250,000 of them. But I also think that after a year or so, they will release a lower trim version...

Where will Tesla get 4680 batteries for the CyberTruck in 2024?

That is all true, but that does not say in anyway that the Qilin battery cell is cylindrical.

Regen braking is very similar to old engine braking from old manuals, so it does not shock me that your father had no issues driving the Tesla.

    Charging with trailer

This was a problem solved decades ago for gas stations, because people would drive over the hoses... and especially the really long hoses found at large vehicle fuel pumps (semi's, RVs, etc). Why do they not just realize this problem has been solved and use that solution? The long hose has a...

When my Leaf is fully charged I hate how it drives, because there is no regen, it just glides when I expect it to automatically start slowing down... But engine braking on my motorcycle is more 'dramatic' that the Leaf's regen (we always drive it in the 'B' mode, which is the highest regen).
