Cybertruck Photos Leaked! ? [Added: Video Showing Whole Truck -- Rear & Bed]

My guess is that they are trying to fit in a ā€œCyberFrunkā€ in the space between the top of the bumper and the underside of the dash. Mounting a hidden wiper there would cut into the opening height.

Anyone selling what your CT will replace?

I agreeā€¦Iā€™ll ride my Zero DS to Home Depot for bolts or packages that will fit in the top case but I draw the line at 8 foot 2x4s. The Aptera I have reserved, howeverā€¦looks like I can stack 2x4s in that and skip taking the CT out.

Anyone selling what your CT will replace?

I have a ā€˜96 F250 Powerstroke xcab long bed that I converted to run on straight vegetable oil, back when that was popular. Itā€™s not my main vehicle but I use it a lot so donā€™t want to get rid of it until I get the CT. I Might fix it up a little first - as is I get guys all the time asking if I...

610 miles of range for Cybertruck - is it for real?

I need to make a correction - in using the Model X as a surrogate for the CT I forgot to factor in the efficiency penalty that the CT would have over the Model X due to the difference in cd values. The Model X has a cd of .24 and the CT should have a cd of .30 (per Elonā€™s tweet). I donā€™t have a...

610 miles of range for Cybertruck - is it for real?

Well, I was referring more to when it is used as a point of refutation in a discussion - just gets really tiresome to wade through. A person may be absolutely correct about my poor career choice or my many character flaws, but they [probably] aren't really relevant to the data presented or...

610 miles of range for Cybertruck - is it for real?

We all have seen the patent UI mock-ups - 610 miles of range! Shocking, surprising? Even unbelievable? Just a random number in a mockup? How does the CT get there in a package that weighs the same (or less) than a Ford ICE F-150 and cost $70k (or less)? Elon had stated in the reveal that they...

Tonneau with a side of wings?

Thatā€™s a good point; it may not be that useful if you park in a lot much of the time. Even street parking, probably couldnā€™t be deployed.

Tonneau with a side of wings?

Aside from the load of patent info dumped recently where solar for the tonneau was detailed, Elon has also mentioned some accessory solar ā€œwingsā€ that could be added for a total of 30-40 miles of range per day. Most likely would these wings fold out from the sail pillars? Would you give up...

ā˜€ļø New Cybertruck tonneau patent mentions potential use as Solar Panel

Sorry, I meant if you were concerned about how much phantom drain you were experiencing because you wanted to waste less energy. Not from the entire fleet but from the X. And comparing it to the X was my premise for the reasons I laid out in my earlier post. I would debate with you further...

ā˜€ļø New Cybertruck tonneau patent mentions potential use as Solar Panel

I donā€™t think your data shows what you think it does. I think it shows youā€™re only doing better than 23% of users and you need to make some adjustments in your settings so you can get back down where most of us are at around 0.2 mph phantom drain. It also shows your estimate of 9 miles per day...

ā˜€ļø New Cybertruck tonneau patent mentions potential use as Solar Panel

Sorry, no, I am not an engineerā€¦far from it. I do recognize those terms although statistics is not my strong suit. I can see from the graph you provided, however, that most users across the fleet experience a phantom drain rate of what looks to be about an average of 0.17 mph loss. So in 24...

ā˜€ļø New Cybertruck tonneau patent mentions potential use as Solar Panel

ajdelange, If you have some actual research or published numbers you can refer to please do so as that would be helpful. Referring to your personal app settings or what you suppose 3/4 of people do is not. I use TeslaFi too and I don't suffer phantom drain like that. Guessing that the battery...

ā˜€ļø New Cybertruck tonneau patent mentions potential use as Solar Panel

There is a lot of speculation on here about how useful the solar option will be based on what the efficiency of the Cybertruck is going to be, but we already have enough data to estimate it pretty well: The CARB filing in Dec 2019 stated the Cybertruck would be class 2b - GVWR 8501-10000 lbs...

Sounded a little ad hominem to me, but then what do I know, right? I misunderstand everything and just canā€™t grasp concepts.

    Making Cybertruck cheaper

Theyā€™ve reduced the cost and added features to the Model 3 over the last two years. Manufacturing costs come down with scaleā€¦Tesla is improving their battery tech and at the same time making them cheaper.

Psycho for Cybertruck (Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs)

When the truck drove on stage and cleared enough from the smoke that I could see the shape, I exclaimed ā€œwhatā€ in shock and surprise. But when he started to talk about the shape being for strength and the stressed skin design I starting thinking ā€œthat makes sense.ā€ I threw off the shackles of...

ā˜€ļø New Cybertruck tonneau patent mentions potential use as Solar Panel

Tesla needs an additional ā€˜solar panelā€™ mode; the truck is parked, the tonneau is facing the right direction, you arenā€™t going to be using it (the interior) so just recharge the battery from the panels and supply power to the outletsā€¦otherwise only minimal vehicle processes running.
