Youāre very welcome! I enjoy my hobby very much now that everything I fly or control is electric powered. I hated the noisy, finicky and messy nitro engines I had to use. Then electric power came and I quickly converted and never looked back. Just plug in and go.
Yes, the CB power train layout...
I believe ĆC induction motors have been around for a long while especially in industrial use and are in our plug-in household tools and appliances. High power DC permanent magnet motors are fairly new especially neodymium magnet motors. These changed the electric powered model aircraft and now...
Yepp. These permanent magnet motors are incredible! A motor that easily fits in the palm of your hand can put out ~12 hp at 16,000 rpmās at ~60 volts dc and make great 3 phase high power AC generators (regen).
The permanent magnet motors used in the Teslas appears to be the same electrical configuration as the motors and speed controllers I use in my model aircraft (see my thumbnail). Three terminals and wires are used to the motor and speed control which means the ESC or Electronic Speed Control does...
Wow! I wondered if the drive units are also sealed, but since they still worked they must be! Letās see how the wheel bearings hold up to water intrusion. I would be awfully curious after that excursion.
Try submitting your concern/question to Tesla by going into your TESLA App and select āServiceā. Select āAsk a questionā and put in your concern about missing Cabin Overheat Protection in the question box and submit it.
That should get their attention from there and they should respond.
When we received our MY it had 35 miles on it as they drove it from Sherman Oaks to the house. Another employee followed and they both went back after. This was last last year. Paperwork said 5 miles.
Another good reason for this merging is, my wife had the M3 under her name and I had the MY under mines and when we chose to put both TESLAS under their car insurance they only allow one owner name. No joint representation. We had both vehicles insured under my name and TESLA INSURANCE did it...
I chose no as I need all the headroom there is and wished the bed had more room too. Hopefully someone makes a shell that gives that vertical bed space back. The range isnāt what I was hoping for but that was because the battery energy density efficiency increase hasnāt happened yet. I do...
Donāt forget the rear wheel steering that pretty much resolves the maneuvering issue which can be programmed to compensate for the longer bed length.
Iām holding on, but disappointed at the pricing and range. My reservation was for the Trį»-motor, but for now itās priced about 30k over the original and less than 500 miles range. I will sit back and see what happens down the road until my number comes up. If nothing changes then I might opt for...
That particular location doesnāt even have destination chargers in that area. This place is literally out in the middle of nowhere and you have to bring your own supplies, etc for an overnight stay. There is only porta potties there. Thatās it. Other visitors drive in with their RVs. We usually...
I want at least 400 miles range as when I travel long distances, I typically drive faster than the speed limit which effects range, plus all the gear I would be taking with me. I want that range buffer. One destination I drive to is in the middle of almond groves, so no superchargers close to...
Iād love to see a conformal SS skinned shell with the rack on top to make more storage space in the back for carrying more stuff with a integrated light bar on the front of it. Very nice artwork! Now Iām really looking forward to seeing what may come next when more of these jewels roll out...
Sorry to hear that your experiencing screen crashes and worse yet, leaking screen! We have enabled the āCabin Overheat Protectionā feature and also use sun shades whenever itās parked for a while In both of our Teslas. The sun is brutal to car interiors.
We have a M3 for over 2 years now. Zero issues with the center console ever crashing. We also just picked up a MY and have had it for over a month and no issues there so far.
If the AWS increases the price, I would hope it is offered as a option as more moving parts equals more things to wear out or go wrong. I want my CT to be as durable as possible and I will stick with the Tri-motor option. ~1000 HP is more than adequate for me.
