It's not that big of a stretch to think that getting a Golden Ticket gets you VIP treatment.
In fact, Ford invited me to their launch event and they paid for everything, including the flight, hotels, food, shuttles to and from the event and they gave away well over $100 worth of gifts.
Neither can I. The media says the video was an April Fool's Day prank, which is why it never actually crashes.
I just wonder if they had a second motive, and that the ending wasn't edited. Perhaps it never actually hit the wall.
That was exactly what I thought when I saw the video too.
We never see the impact. We see it approach the wall, and we see people reacting. So, maybe they've just witnessed how well it goes from 60 to zero and stops literally inches from the wall.
I wonder why they didn't just take a few minutes to talk about the specific things that changed.
I keep looking at these videos and photos and I can't see anything that specifically tells us whether there is a folding mid-gate... and I definitely don't see any signs of 4 wheel steering...
That seems like the mosts logical design. If they use basically the same system in the back as they do in the front, it's just a matter of software to mange steering and power distribution.
I have the same opinion. Right now, the level of automation that I want is essentially for safety interventions. I like to drive, but I can't anticipate every possible accident. I love the fact that there are at least 6 cameras continuously looking out for problems and that their technology...
I'm still super optimistic, and surround myself with my CT toys to keep me motivated while I wait.
I've got:
- Two remote control Cybertrucks... The big one from Mattel, and a smaller one made by Hot Wheels.
- Two regular (not remote controlled) Hot Wheels.
- CyberWhistle, The silly $60...
I fully understand their commitment and belief that the company will see its biggest growth from robotaxis and robots, or even their desire to just focus on building a lot more Model Ys to keep up with demand.
The thing is, the robotaxi and robot teams are independent and most likely not taking...
They're in a very good position, so the stock will definitely take off.
They have new factories opening, so they'll be making a lot more cars.
They have a waiting list, so they can sell every single car that they build without keeping an inventory or doing any advertising.
They have a Mad...
That's literally my favorite feature. I hate lifting things to get them into my truck.
I'd love to just roll a hand trucks, bicycle or snowblower right into the back, especially if the back lowers with the gas suspension.
I think it depends on how far on the list you were and how much you need a truck vs an SUV.
It will take both companies quite a while to reach the end of their reservation lists, so in terms of actually getting a truck any time soon, a low position on one list trumps a high position on the...
Me too. Ford told me my F-150 Lightning will arrive in about 21 weeks. I'm guessing some time in June.
I still want the Cybertruck, but I need a truck now and as some of you may remember, my F-150 broke down in June and after waiting over 4 months for them to try to fix it, I ended up trading...
Ouch!
I'm still optimistic about some time in 2023... until then I'll be driving my 2022 F-150 Lightning. They sent me an invitation to convert my reservation into an actual order... delivery in 21 weeks.
It should make a good trade when the Cybertruck finally ships.
I'm 5'10", so my F-150 towered above me. I love that. I hate getting into a low vehicle.
Two things...
1. Unlike most trucks, the air suspension can be adjusted to a lower setting for people to get in and out.
2. The slope of the rear will definitely be quite a bit lower than the peak, so...
My current ride doesn't have real door handles. It has a small lip on the front doors, and nothing at all on the back.
So far, no troubles, but people who ride in the back do a double take the first time they want to open the door. All you need to do is hit a small button and it opens just...
