As a TSLA investor, I don't know how the Cybertruck will pan out profit wise long term.
The Unboxed method approach, for any midsized model, would probably yield better profits over time.
Blows my mind people are shooting their brand new Cybertrucks, or smashing their own windows or trying to break it off road.
Or tearing it completely down. LOL. To each their own.
IDK
If there are reservation holders like us still waiting for their CTs, I wouldn't count on the price coming way down over the next 9 months.
We will see. It will depend on how many Tesla can build...
You can check my threads going back a couple of years - I always thought the Cybertruck would come in about $80,000, pushing towards $90,000. (I reserved a TriMotor so I expected a higher price). I took some flak from folks here on the message boards that Tesla would never price it that...
Tiffany and Gucci have a very nice niche marketing strategy and the buyers they have gladly pay for their products.
But Tiffany and Gucci don't desire to reach mass markets or the average consumer.
What we do know, is only a small % of US consumers can "afford" a Cybertruck Foundation Series.
Even when the price comes down to $79K, it will still be a small # of buyers who will / want to spend that much on a vehicle.
Only limited edition $99k/$120k Foundation Series Cybertruck’s for 2024?
Answer, yes.
And for all those folks here on the message board that beat me up when I said the Cybertruck would cost $99,000 when it finally came out....well you can always believe that the Cybertruck will come down in...
My guess would be yes, $100K or more for Cybertrucks in 2024.
I feel bad for those dreamy eyed folks that thought they would get a Cybertruck for $50-$60,000 dollars.
If we can start getting a $79,900 Cybertruck in 2025, I guess we will have to be grateful.
I have to say when I reserved my 500 mile range Tri-Motor back in Nov 2019, I did so because of the range (I already had a reservation in for a 400 mile Rivian R1T March 2019).
That was the big draw. Tesla was offering 500 miles of range. More than the Rivian. Now, 4+ years later if...
Who drives at 31 mph?
My assumption from the various folks doing tests, like Kyle, is that REAL WORLD is less than 250 miles because who leaves the house at 100% and then runs it to 0.0%? No one.
So, usable is gotta be about 225 miles? Maybe 200 miles depending on where the next DCFC is...
Understandable.
I too reserved a 500 mile range truck. It was November 2019, and I truly thought Tesla would deliver that much range. Why would they say they were building a 500 mile range model, if they actually couldn't.
I understand why they are not able to deliver on that promise...
