I think the "European Car Market" would be classed as quite substantial, seeing as the full size CT just wouldnt be practical on Europes relatively narrower roads and parking spaces.
That sketch of the 2 door CT seen at the Petersen last December would be perfect for our roads...
As I said, the 1st edition cars (Hyundai Ioniq 5, NOT Fisker) all came to Europe fully loaded with every option fitted including the Solar Panel, so it's not like there was a choice to have a panoramic roof instead.
Your right in thinking the extra (free) 400 miles it gives me over the year is...
Ive got the Ioniq 5 with the Solar Roof option which is probably around the same size as that of the Fisker's.
I probably wouldnt have optioned it myself, but all the first edition 'Project 45's came to Europe with it prefitted.
Ive been taking readings from it every week so we can have a look...
Cant see how the stock price affects me still wanting a (smaller Euro version) CT
Yes I realise its probably not going to happen, at least for another 3 years, but I did like that 2 door rendering at the Petersen a couple of months back.
As for the stock price, I might consider getting some when...
It was straight from Elons tongue on Battery day in Sept 2020 {so it must be true}:-
" We’ll probably make an international version of cybertruck that’ll be kind of smaller .. you know – kind of like a "tight Wolverine package” - it’ll still be cooler, but it’ll be smaller cos you just cant make...
In the UK the standard car driving license {Cat B} only allows you to drive cars & light commercial vehicles (ie-ford transit type & car derived vans), having a max laden weight of 3500kg (7,700lbs)
Q/- What's the estimated fully laden weight of a CT?
However, If they passed their car driving...
We actually pay stupid amounts for cars in Europe - far higher prices than you're used to over there
eg - UK price of Tesla Model 3 LR = ÂŁ49,990 = $67,755, whereas US list price = $45,940
Therefore far more profit to be made in Europe - Especially if also built here
The upcoming super stylish...
A smaller Wolverine version is exactly what we need for Europe's much smaller roads.
Also Logical that a smaller version could be produced in Europe - if the Berlin Plant ever gets finished :D
Just seen the latest video from JerryRigEverything where amongst other things, he laser cuts a CT model ready for bending & offers up the design for anyone who wants one - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4934326
Jump to 2m55s in the Video, or just watch it all for some pretty cool laser cutting
MG released some new images of its Cyberster concept today - Love the car, but hate the name!
But hey - Its even got a YOKE steering wheel - gotta love that :cool:
So its been everso slightly quiet on this thread for 9 months, but now the story is back in the news again with the Minister of State for Business, Energy, and Clean Growth saying the government is considering the site for a Tesla Gigafactory...
So, are you saying the Insurance companies aren't that bothered & dont need to be informed, (although I guess they'll probably get a memo from the manufacturer informing them of that particular models upgrade)
Another question then - So if your saying different states have different motoring...
A general question for insurance on cars that have o-t-a updates:-
So you buy the car - get the best insurance quote based on that particular car's spec - sorted!
So then what happens when one day you've have an "over the air update" that's increased the performance by say 10% - Do you now...
As you say - Higher Voltages{V}means a lower Current{I} through the cables resulting in both copper cost savings & less weight.
Back to school time:-
Power {W}=V*I
Lets say Charging Power = 150Kw {150,000 Watts}
At 400 Volts, Charging Current =150000/400 = 375Amps {CSA of copper rqd =300mmsq}
At...
Saw in the news over the weekend that Elon flew over to the UK last week to check out potential sites for a new gigafactory.
Rumours first emerged that the UK government’s Department of International Trade had recently been on the lookout for a 4 million sq ft commercial premises - and an old...
