I spoke with a guy at the car wash the other day, he was driving a new Hummer SUV EV. He said he had to sign a six month no sale contract. Also said he just saw it at the dealership and bought it, no res, no list, no wait.
All the Bay Area folks get their trucks and immediately take them on a road trip to one of two places… Tahoe or Big Sur. I just went to the most popular tourist traps in my area and boom! Easy. Didn’t expect to find a Beast, and number 15 at that 🤩
Just going of Elon’s statement that FSD works best in the Bay Area. Maybe it’s a false assumption on my part that this is due to vehicular quantity. What else would be responsible for this variance?
When it comes to FSD, the California experience is just not the same as everywhere else. People from elsewhere really can’t imagine just how many Teslas there are driving around out here, learning the roads and teaching each other.
Just went on a little Cyber hunt. Ran into BEAST number 015! 🤩 Cerberus chillin with the rest of the gods at Nepenthe.
Spent an hour in the parking lot with it. A few takeaways…
As reported, a people magnet. The vast majority of people had something negative to say about it. The kid in the...
True story. One of the biggest celebrities in the world lives down the street from me. I asked him if he wanted to buy a Cybertruck and he said ‘no way’… it’d draw too much attention 🙃
He drives an R1S to fit in 😅
Two reservations in the first five minutes
11274 TriMotor
11277 DualMotor
Order invite 12/26 to configure the second res 1127766xx AWD. February delivery
Go figure
The process is bizarre. I leased a M3 in March, so I guess that makes me an owner. Live in California. Booked immediately in Nov. 2019… 11274xxx Tri Motor FSD, and 11277xxx Dual Motor FSD. I got invited to configure the second reservation even though it’s further back in line
Just got my invite. Reserved two in the first minutes after reveal. 11274xxx and 11277xxx… tri and dual respectively. They are inviting me to configure the second one… go figure
Hypothesis: Tesla has divided the reservation list by delivery center. Each location has their own list. Tesla is allocating trucks to delivery centers, who are then contacting the first people on their list. It might be that the ‘top’ reservation holder for a given center is a day two, or...
You are correct. However, the production timeline for the Cybertruck is open ended at this time. There is no ‘period’.
Theoretically, if a buyer had a terminal disease then their personal ‘period’ would be finite and speculation could hurt folks in that group by not accelerating their...
1. We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. I believe anyone who pays the listed MSRP and takes delivery is a customer
2. This is not a situation of finite supply like a concert or basketball game. Anyone who wants to buy a truck can make a reservation and wait. Tesla dictates the price of...
ALL reservations are genuine. As long as you take delivery,Tesla is fulfilled. No one at corporate headquarters gives a flyingF how you use the truck or what happens after that. And parasitic profit is some jargon you made up to describe supply and demand.
You can’t adopt something you don’t...
What a huge nothingburger. I don’t understand what the poster thinks will happen? It’s not like someone reserving now will have any chance to mark up a truck from the end on the line. It will only work for early res holders, who have multiple trucks on order. The buyers who are willing to pay a...
