I really wanted that ramp to be in the final version. It was my favorite feature. I'm sure it added a lot of weight to the tailgate, but I'm guessing it came down to bigger engineering challenges, like making it strong enough, yet collapsible, and the potential problem with lowering the ramp...
The ride quality is smooth and quiet and the acceleration is way faster than I need. Every now and then I show off the acceleration to people who've never experienced an EV and the resulting reaction is always priceless.
As a ling time ICE F-150 driver, the main thing I can say about it is...
Unfortunately, this is an industry trend. Most cars today no longer have spare tires to keep the weight down. I had to call AAA a while back when my old Mustang had a flat. That felt strange to me because I grew up in an era where we changed our own flat tires on our own.
As I get closer to...
Every truck I've ever owned has had a full sized spare under the bed, so my bed is always empty. I could understand if they included run-flat tires, but flats happen and in my opinion it's always better to have a spare with you all the time.
I take my truck to industrial / construction areas...
It's not a private link, so everything is on the main site.
Here's a few examples of things they never showed before.
NOT happy with this one. Why use the bed to hold a spare?
The removed the configuration options entirely. Most likely it's because the final pricing and specs will change.
This makes you wonder if they're still going to honor the prices quoted in 2019 when those who were asked for a configuration placed their reservation.
Rivian got a lot of...
My original urgency was based on the fact that my old F-150 was in the shop and getting close to the end of the extended warranty. I normally sell my trucks before the warranty expires, so I hated the rumor that a quick decision to get a dual motor in 2019 would add nearly a year to the...
My original reason for posting this was that I made a dual motor reservation before Tesla announced that dual motors were potentially going to be built a year later.
It bothered me that somebody who reserved a tri-motor a year later would take delivery first. I was okay with their decision to...
That's exactly what I was wondering. My reservation is for a dual motor. I'll keep it that way until they start actually producing them and I see whether the tri-motor reservations are getting calls first.
It's a 2016, but I got it January of 2017... it has 70,000 miles, so the lemon laws don't cover it.
That said, I need to find out what my rights are waiting 3 months for an extended warranty repair. The last time we spoke, they said they still can't figure out what's wrong with it.
If the rumors are true, they'll start production exclusively with tri-motors for at least 6 months before building anything else because the higher prices help them recover the costs of building their new factories.
The list of tri-motor reservations is huge, so they're not likely to offer...
I called two Tesla offices in NJ the day before posting this asking them if I could change the order to whichever is being built first. The first was a Tesla Store and they weren’t sure, so they told me to call the second office, where I was told specifically that for them to change it would...
That's the main reason for my original post.
I think a lot of people who placed reservations in the first days really didn't expect there to be over a million reservations, and that could mean a drastic wait if your original choice was single or dual.
If they give single and dual reservation...
That’s all we can do. I just wish they offered me a chance to decide whether to upgrade to whichever ships to my area first without risking losing my position. It just bothers me that somebody in my area who placed a CT3 reservation 6 months after my CT2 could take delivery almost a year...
My top reason to get a CT is reliability. My brother has 4 Teslas, and in 7 years, had virtually no expenses (he even has free SuperCharging for life on one of them).
The idea of a million mile battery is super exciting... and since it's literally built like a tank, maybe I can finally feel...
I knew it would be a few years, and I hope my F-150 will be my last ICE, because the timing corresponds to the length of time I often keep a vehicle before getting something new and my trade in value would still be pretty solid.
I didn't think my choice of dual motors might add an additional...
The Reservation Tracker / Google Spreadsheet that's linked on this site is what started this whole thing. I looked at the estimated delivery dates for the lowest reservation numbers and all of the dual reservations were up to a year later.
When I called Tesla to confirm this, they said they...
As long as those runs are not up to a year apart, I'm safe keeping my reservation where it is, but if there's a significant delay for dual, I want to be offered a chance to upgrade before somebody else with a later reservation in the same area is contacted.
I drive a 2016 F-150 that cost me $58,000, with 70,000 miles and a 100,000 mile warranty. At the time I posted this, my F-150 suddenly threw a message on the dashboard and was towed to the dealer. I'm not fond of dealers, but the warranty is only covered if they fix it.
They said it's...
