I think feedback from reservation holders was that it had to fit in a standard size American garage. The Beta looks a tad shorter in length so maybe they listened. I can't wait for the public reveal with all of the new specifications, especially the length and width.
I don't think there is a standard size garage depth, only garage door width. So no need to shorten the length of the Cybertruck.

Typically they are 20 feet deep. I had to park my ram (quad cab long bed) on a diagonal in our last tract house. Current garage was spec'd at 25 feet to avoid that. It is glorious.

Upon looking at it further it does seem the windshield extends further down and hence the hood seems shorter although the overall dimensions I believe are unchanged. Definitely not a fan as it throws proportions really off.

You know, the more I look at these pictures, the more I look forward to better images of what will be my new vehicle. Even the mirrors are growing on me. Overall, it looks more...balanced.

Can you imagine the ridiculousness if Tesla followed suit with the other manufacturers and camo wrapped this Beta version to hide these details?
Edit: Apparently these are Alpha versions.

Side mirrors could be inevitable for US market. Living in Europe, I hope they will stick to the cameras (the monster is 2m wide already. adding side mirrors would be too much). I can't see any difference in the lights though
but still hope they do on first deliveries......everything will change around the 40-50k delivery....they will continuously make better.....if they were to make everything now and add all the options people want, not only would the price increase, but we would be waiting til hell freezes over

When my Cybertruck pre-order is fulfilled...the only downside will be paparazzi style stalkers like you trying to interview me when I'm running behind, in a rush, and trying to get in and out of the grocery store ?.
let alone a parking place

I think Tesla has no choice but to reveal the production version at this point. The fuzzy video may have bumped up the official reveal date.

I definitely would have liked to see it on this semifinalist list:

North American Truck of the Year™
Ford Maverick
GMC HUMMER EV
Hyundai Santa Cruz
Nissan Frontier
Rivian R1T
Toyota Tundra

I don't think so at all. There are millions of full size trucks sold every year not made of 3mm stainless steel, that do just fine sitting in the owners driveway.

If it was shrunk it had more to do with his drive through the tunnel then reservation holder requests to make it fit in their garages.

As long as the bed is at least 6.5' long and the interior hip room is at least equivalent to modern 1/2 tons I'll be happy with those aspects.

Great observation. The base of the windshield appears to be at the level of the door window sills. The CT is going to have a HUMONGOUS windshield with a stubby front end.

Note there is a darker band at the transition from windshield to frunk lid. I don't the think glass got bigger at all, but the lid was reduced to enable the placement of a plastic trim piece below the windshield. This would be the natural place to mount the wipers.

On other cars (including Teslas) the hood overhangs the windshield, with the wipers tucked underneath. This won't work on the CT, as it would ruin the lines. I was hoping they would devise a frunk lid that could "pop up" to reveal the wipers, but this seems impractical.

It also appears that the headlights have been lowered slightly but it can't be confirmed from this photo angle. I think the revised "pug" front end looks great!!!

This video is going to be analyzed to death as it's the first concrete sighting of the production version. I'm sure a professional editing company will come up with an enhanced version of the video to show more of the details.
Its not as pug as that screenshot makes it look.

I’m liking the rake more in this iteration. The extended windshield in big foot’s image gives me an impression of a bull shark.

maybe the rake looks better due to the camera is at an angle.
