Why do you think there would be a solar tonneau cover?

It's highly unlikely considering it needs to be able to roll up and Elon said it would be strong enough to walk on.
Another member had mentioned that an ATV could park on their roll up tonneau cover, so that seems like it could be strong enough to walk on.

Well, there were patents regarding a solar tonneau: https://cleantechnica.com/2021/07/0...sla-cybertrucks-solar-charging-tonneau-cover/. Also, the solar roof that Tesla offers is supposed to be strong enough to handle hail storms and other impact damage. https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-solar-roof-durability-price-cuts/.

Despite all of that, I think a solar cover that encompasses the entire CT would make more sense than a solar tonneau (and offer a larger solar footprint). Like I mentioned before, being an insulator against solar radiation while, at the same time, being able to convert that radiation to usable energy makes a lot of sense. I guess we will see what Tesla comes up with, no one really knows, at this point anyway.

I see, I was confused because you were speaking of a solar tonneau cover as if it was going to be available. Elon did talk about offering an optional solar panel setup but I was under the impression it might be something you could deploy when camping.

I don’t need a solar panels on my Cybertruck for it will be parked in the cool shade.

Why do you think solar can't be walked on when it has metal backing? Do you think the solar roof can't be walked on?

Mostly I was thinking that the combination of being strong enough to walk on meant there wouldn't be room to put additional solar and still fit in the tube while remaining reliable after repeated roll-ups and being walked on.

No doubt it's not physically impossible, let's see what Tesla comes up with. I suspect they won't have integrated solar into the roll top by the first releases but time will tell.

I got free delivery our new fridge last year, and paid an extra $25 to have the old one hauled off. Worth every penny. Not an issue. Next!

Now you know that's just plain wrong. We're all here buying $80,000 CTs so we can haul a fridge home and SAVE that $25. I guarantee you it's worth every penny. Next!

There appears to be a trapezoid storage depression in the dash. I wonder what that's all about?
it looks like a significant amount of wasted space there… why isn’t the dash mounted further forward?

I imagine the ledge would be big enough for quite a few pizza boxes, statues of religious idols or action figurines? It could be a place holder for a full screen HUD?

I would imagine that with so much realestate available on the dash they know people will want to put stuff up there, the shelf is likely there to stop everything being flung at the passengers when doing zero to 60 in less than 4 secs.

You could fit about 1200 hula dancers up there
