I just picked up my FS Cyberbeast today! I think the inventory was quite low in these, with the 0% APR and free supercharging. Tesla did honor the promotion even though I picked it up after 6/30: they agreed it was on them that they didn't get it shipped here on time. I thought I would have to put a lot less down than I ended up with though, but I still think it was a good deal.

I think you're buying at an optimum time, because with Congress having passed the big bill that terminates the tax credit subsidies on September 30, there will likely be a rush to buy in the intervening 3 months. It will probably become a frenzy by early September. Hopefully they will be able to build up inventory to meet demand. Tesla doesn't have enough pricing power to be able to cut the price after September 30th by the full amount of the $7500 credit.

It's not a waste of time and money if it makes you happy. I love my wrap and it makes it so much easier to keep the Beast clean.
True, I was speaking from a more practical perspective. It's hard to put a price on happiness! I just have trouble understanding why people want it.

I've never had a truck that was easier to maintain than the Cybertruck. I do a lot of travel on unpaved mountain roads and the metal shines right through the dirt, unlike the paint on my blue F-150. And it cleans up super easy with a long-handled truck washing brush and a bucket of soapy water. If it has a lot of mud on it I just take it to one of those bays with a pressure washer in them (because they filter the dirt out of the water so it doesn't end up in my driveway).

Hope Tesla doesn’t lower prices by 7,500 on Oct 1.

They absolutely have plenty of margin to cut every Tesla by $7,500 and still have positive margins, while still meeting or beating auto-industry-best competition. They did exactly this in 2019 when they lost access to all credits, and will do so again. The sales pressures cannot sustain an average $7,500 price increase. The reality is that prices must be cut even further, and they likely will. Read the 10-Q’s. Tesla is in a very healthy financial position.

I am not sure if they will cut the price by that much but can easily flip the switch on FSD for the duration of warranty or such.
