Used to ride in an area with one of the largest areas of serpentine soil. It’s very high in asbestos. It’s a weird soil that doesn’t support the typical sierra foothills foxtails and grasses. It does support some flowers and vegetation and lots of buckbrush with extremely sharp spikes (referred to by anyone who rode there as *uckbrush).![]()

I kinda dig it.It looks a bit serpentine there.
Or maybe because that's where the serpents live? https://tenor.com/bahUV.gifPerhaps thats why they call it serpentine?
LOL. Red Hills certainly is rattlesnake country, but then all of the Sierra foothills is.Or maybe because that's where the serpents live? https://tenor.com/bahUV.gif
Very very very much looks like a GI Joe Toy to me. Almost like you’d expect a bunch of COBRA soldiers to pile out of it.I kinda dig it.
I blame @Crissa for my OT geological excursion. She triggered an oddball piece of trivia in my brain which brought up some fond memories.Am I having a stroke? What is this thread about?
