Phone Key and IOS26 - disconnecting and reconnecting erratically

Has anyone had any trouble with their phone key disconnecting and reconnecting erratically? It started happening after I updated both my iPhones to IOS26 beta. My phones would no longer connect as phone keys properly. I thought I was going to be locked out of my CT. Luckily I had my key card on me. I eventually figured how to fix it. I had to remove my phones from the CT, delete the bluetooth entries for my CT on my both my phones and do a network reset. I was then able to add my CT to my phones and setup the phone keys with no issues. I hope this is helpful to anyone with the same issue.

now that you mention it, I have noticed issues with the phone key since the update. There is usually a delay in it connecting for me. Like having to press the door button twice to open.

iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 26 and have had no issues. Took a 2,000-ish mile trip after the upgrade as well, never had an issue.

I don’t have that issue but I have the issue that my phone audio automatically connects to my cybertruck. Even when I’m my house or backyard and the truck is in a closed garage. Does anyone have any tips for that one?

Had that issue. On your iPhone, try going to settings, then Apps at the bottom. Select the Tesla app and make sure Location is set to always allow.

Well, just in case you guys run into the same problem I did, this might help. This fix has been working for me so far.

It’s under Settings>General>transfer or reset iPhone> Reset> Reset Network Settings. This gave me a clean slate to work from. This wipes all of the WiFi networks and settings, not the data.

I ran into the same issue after updating to iOS 26 beta and thought it was just me. The phone key kept dropping randomly, and I was also lucky to have my key card on hand. Even called the Sapphire customer service through which I bought the phone in the hope they would help. Your fix worked for me too, so huge thanks!

I had the same issue. Workaround is easy: force quit the Tesla app on the iPhone. and relaunch it. This worked for me.
