Would be good to add an option to warn before opening tailgate from the app if an obstacle is present. I accidently clicked once with the garage door shut. Thankfully no damage.

It's absolutely crazy how much road feel you have with the SBW road feedback mechanism. You feel every crack in the road, and every change in texture. It's some crazy voodoo and amazing for sporty, spirited driving.

However, I'd love the ability to tune out the road feel at times. On long rough-road highway trips, it would be really nice to numb up the steering a bit to get some relief when not using FSD.

To have the option would be fantastic.

I looked at the thread on X and didn't see any mention of steer by wire improvements....

Really? I don't feel the road at all with SBW and most people say after driving my truck it's one of the most jarring things about the CT. I like it.

Are you saying you already have this update as it sounds like they are delivering feedback in the next update:

Steer-by-wire improvement - the steering wheel now gi ves you more realistic feedback, adapting to different road surfaces for a better driving experience

I've driven 3 CTs and there's 0 road feedback on any of the three. I also have almost 25k miles on mine.

I have driven 3 as well, two AWD's and my Beast. All 3 have shown way more road feedback than my F-150 in my experience. Crazy how different our experiences are.

Tesla is delivering the ability to enable road feedback in the CT in the next update.

In the CT thread of TMC it's one of the complaints "No feedback from the road at all".

I think it's in your head.

Definitely not in my head. I feel cracks and texture changes in the road surface more than I'd like to most times. I've put my hand on the dashboard to make sure Its not just translating thru the chassis. Maybe you have driven a different revision of the system? My vin is close to 30k.

Mine is 17k VIN, but I have no idea what the others I've driven are. Even reviews from third-parties talk about how little road feel and how disconnected it can be. Others are saying that's why Tesla is delivering simulated road feeling in the new update.

Delivering simulated road feeling? Or improving upon what is already existing? I interpreted the latter from the following:

"more realistic feedback, adapting to different road surfaces for a better driving experience"

Stupid question looking at my vin where are you guys getting these numbers? I see letters and numbers but can’t figure out where the 17k or 30k comes from

I think it has to do with when they were built. I feel a lot in my beast 25XXX VIN and got a loaner rn AWD 35XXX VIN and honestly night and day difference. Everything feels smoother.

I think they are referencing the last 6 digits of the VIN, which appear to be the unique part identifying your specific vehicle.
