Quick question for everyone from someone who's waiting for their first Tesla.
We usually see the next model year for ICE cars around Sept/October. If Tesla releases vehicles on a similar timeline we should be seeing the 2025 Cybertruck in early-ish Q4. If the grey interior won't start production till Q4 switching from white to grey would pretty much guarantee a 2025 model year.

Do you think there will be any difference between the 2024 and 2025 model year? I think we're going to switch to white after the July 4th holiday because we're tired of waiting but if there's a big update for 2025 we might consider waiting.

Tesla doesn't do model-year updates like the ICE OEM's. It institutes continual, incremental improvement both in hardware and software, throughout the "model year."

There will be no "big update" for the 2025 Cybertruck.

This is correct.

Changes, happen throughout the year and are usually small. Some of the changes actually are regressions like when Tesla removed the passenger lumber from 3/Y or the mobile charging cable or reduce the speaker count, but most are seen as improvements (matrix lights, different roof glass, tilting screen in the MS/X).

These changes almost never come when the "new year" starts shipping in November, they are typically at the end of Q1 or Q2, but sometimes even more random than that, like the increase RAM that allowed steam to be played on the S/X that started shipping Feb 12 a few years ago (my car was made on Feb 11)

That's awesome! The more I learn about Tesla's the more I love them.

They will probably make all Foundation Series 2024 as part of the limited edition. Non FS will probably be 2025 models. The vehicles will be the same minus Foundation Series Badging

My cyberbeast order confirmation is for delivery October-December this year. White and gray are options fur interior color. There was no indication of model year anywhere in the ordering.

No lies like all the other auto manufacturers selling 2025 cars built in 2024 that shit is so annoying.

The date the car is built at Tesla is the date it is built, so odd and refreshing.

No. Tesla typically doesn't tie anything to different model years. The only reason they even have "model years" is because everything in the auto industry is set up for cars to have a model year.

The Foundation Series limited edition will probably end in July.

I think there is some value in wanting a 25 over a 24. If you plan on selling in the next 5 years or less, there could be a significant depreciation difference. That is the only reason I would consider trying to manipulate your order for a 25.

Given that close to 100% of the the 24s will be a "Founders Series", I do not expect that label to have any financial value.

This is true, but the ending of the Foundation Series would be an unusual opportunity for them to do some 2025 refresh based on experience and feedback.

Foundation Series all have FSD, All-Weather Mats, etc.

Everything else being equal, the Foundation Series will be worth considerably more, because they come with more stuff. No where near $20K more, but more, nevertheless.

True. As production volumes increased, Tesla started making the switch to the new model year a month or two before the actual end of the calendar year, which was a smart move for obvious reasons. But the switch is generally not associated with any specific changes, those happen continuously.
