It makes logical sense as the Quad would be the flagship of the Cybertruck trims. The move would be similar to Rivian. They launched their Quad Motor first and followed up with a Dual Motor version at a later date.

If the rumor turns out to be true I predict Tesla targeted over 835 HP to one up the Quad Motor Rivian R1T.

If this prediction comes to fruition I expect the Quad Motor MSRP to be around 15% higher than the Tri Motor $69,990 reveal pricing announced in late 2019 (just under $80k).

A 350 mile EPA CT is totally uncompetitive. Remember those are "Tesla" EPA miles using the 5 cycle super-optimistic versus everyone else's reported EPA numbers. A 350 mile CT = a ~300 mile F150 Lightning.
Weirdly confident take from someone who doesn't know the CT launch price or the fact that the cheapest F150 lightning with 300 mi battery is about 80k

Price is irrelevant. A 350 "Tesla" miles pickup is uncompetitive. The Silverado, and the real F150 EV (not the fake ICE conversion vehicle rushed to market and on sale now) will stomp it.

Reality is, that’s possibly *why* it is competitive … as a first offered/deliverable trim

One way this goes, completely in line with Tesla release history, is that at reveal they “offer” a 350mi and a 500mi model, with the caveat that unlike the immediately-available 350mi variant, the 500mi variant will require a material wait before deliveries begin

As a result friendly news outlet headlines will read eg ~ “Tesla Opens Orders For 350mi and 500mi CyberTruck Models -Is The 500mi Worth The Wait?

Assuming Tesla nails the pricing of its 350mi variant, the article goes on to say what it offers over the (current) F150 Lightning, etc., and it’s off to the races.

N this theory, the tweet etc conjecture is really about which model will be offered and available for delivery at launch

🤷🏻‍♂️

Whats weirder than that is he didn’t mention the price. He’s talking about range

They jumped to quad motor when they heard 350 miles?

I don't think it'd be that. more likely to be the dual motor like originally announced.

But if it was the quad motor, honestly, that'd be dope. I would feel bad for the trailer tots but my model Y with just barely 300 is enough for me. And this would save my wallet.
