Holy crap!

After seeing that, I want to get a few “give away” thumb drives that I could give to that poor person (for a police report and insurance use) so mine stays in the glovebox in case there’s another ooops as I head home.
My thumb drive has both USB-A and USB-C, so I can pop it into my phone and pull the files off to share.

I don't know of any other way to offload the clips, other than copying from the drive via another device (or the crappy "point-phone-at-screen" method).

Dang, that green car also making an illegal left, right?

I think in Wisconsin and many other U.S. states it is legal to make a left turn across a single set of double solid yellow lines unless there was a sign prohibiting the turn.

In the 4-5 seconds of the video past the crash I could not see a sign prohibiting the left turn.

I think this is for state of Wisconsin

4. When can you cross a double solid yellow line?
Answer: The only time you should cross a double solid yellow line is when you are making a left turn into a driveway or business entrance.

------------------------------------

California Department of Motor Vehicles - Driver Handbook
https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/handbook/california-driver-handbook/navigating-the-roads/

.....
Double Solid Yellow Lines Do not pass over double solid yellow lines. Stay to the right of these lines unless you are:

* Turning left across a single set of double yellow lines to enter or exit a driveway or private road or make a U-turn.

* In a high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) carpool lane that has a designated entrance on the left.

* Instructed by construction or other signs to drive on the other side of the road because your side is closed or blocked.

Two sets of solid double yellow lines spaced two or more feet apart are considered a barrier. Do not drive on or over this barrier, make a left turn, or make a U-turn across it, except at designated openings.

He slowed down when he saw you then got rear ended. CT is too much of a distraction for other drivers.

Where in the US would that turn ever be illegal?

Also, does anyone know how the CT decides when a turn is a swerve/lane-change vs a rotational turn in regards to rear-wheel steer? I've followed/watched a lot of CT content and I've never seen it discussed.

Rear wheels switch modes at around 40 MPH.

Where posted.

But the lines on the road don't indicate any illegal turns.

I'm pretty sure nowhere are you allowed to plow into the vehicle in front of you if they're merely stopped or not going to speed you are.

After work yesterday I was on my way to get my EMT/OET recertification as I am a member of the National Ski Patrol. On a two lane highway listening to the evening news when all of a sudden I see a car, glass, and parts flying at me. I cranked the steering wheel hard and fast to almost full lock. I missed the oncoming car by MILLEMETERS!

This is a testament to how well the 4 wheel steering works and especially the drive by wire steering. Had I been in my Ram I would have either hit the car to my right at the stop sign, over steered and had to counter steer and would have either spun out, ditched it, or worse rolled it.

The Cybertruck was stable, very minimal body roll and the drive by steering combined with the 4 wheel steer reacted fast enough and JUST enough to do what I wanted and noting more that could have caused me to wreck.

Sometimes you are just at the right place at the right time. I was first on scene so I secured the road/traffic with help of others then assessed the three occupants. Both drivers were dazed and in shock but able to walk out on their own and get out off the road. The passenger of the green ford that was rear ended was hurt the most. Assessed her in the car and determined it was safe to help her get out of the car and away for further care.

This video debunks that stupid vid of the guy saying the drive by steering is slow to respond. I am very confident that had I been in my Ram I would have been in an accident as well.

Video below

It looked to me like he slowed down because he reached the adjacent side road/driveway where he intended to exit the roadway. The CT was just passing by that exact spot at the same time.

OP, great driving skills!

No it's legal as it's to a connected road. Very common here in wi especially rural areas
LuckysFabShop, I know you did not say an "official" connected road

But to be clear, as far as I can tell an official connected road is NOT needed.
It appears to be legal to make left turn into ANY driveway (private, residential, business) or parking lot entrance.
