But to be clear, as far as I can tell an official connected road is NOT needed.
It appears to be legal to make left turn into ANY driveway (private, residential, business) or parking lot entrance.

Yes. It was scared and tried to bolt but with help from others got it back to the owner

I credit my driving skills to whipping shitties in snow filled lots, drifting around in empty lots, driving WAYYY too fast on trails back in my teens

Yes, the OP does deserve congratulations on doing excellent job.

In the near future, every Tesla FSD 12+ vehicle with rear-steer will be able to do it as will many of the other Tesla FSD 12+ vehicles.

Holy crap!

After seeing that, I want to get a few “give away” thumb drives that I could give to that poor person (for a police report and insurance use) so mine stays in the glovebox in case there’s another ooops as I head home.

Definitely don’t give away your thumb drive to anyone especially the police. Anything on there can be used against you in any way they want. Take a video and email it to them later. It’s not court day. They can wait.
