Quick storm rolled through on Friday. Our grid power went out but Fluffy took over within a second or two. The outage lasted for almost 5 hours for us. Some people in our area lost power for almost 2 days. Anyway, I'm thankful that the weather was nice because Fluffy doesn't run the HVAC at all. But, we had the essentials and were able to carry on like normal.

We can run the 240v well pump, and almost all plugs and outlets. The electrician told us that we couldn't put either heat pump or the hot water heater in the backup panel. Anyway, it was great having power during the outage.

But, I'll tell you this, and this is a really big deal:

First, the backstory in a few short sentence: My wife and daughter (last of 4 daughters 15 yo) have this thing they do where they anthropomorphize the cats and some inanimate objects. It's kind of cute the way they do it. "Callie, you can't have ham (Callie is a cat). " It doesn't matter who says it because someone else will say "But I wants it." or something dumb like that. I mean, they literally get into cute arguments and stuff. Plus, there's the odd little "Look at the poor little cherry trees in the storm. Hang on little guys!" comments...

Anyway, back to the point. My wife has always been tolerant of my CT which I named Fluffy (Harry Potter. Hagrid's 3-headed Cerberus. I have 4 daughters, remember?). On Saturday, my wife and I were out watering a couple of Cherry trees we planted. As we walked back to the house, out of nowhere, my wife turned to my CT and said "Fluffy, thank you for keeping the lights and water on for us when nobody else had power. That was really nice."

I knew then that my wife was finally warming up to Fluffy and that made for a nice moment.

Very good to have that option during a power outage.

We just Generac out home.

Hope storms were not to hard on the area, there have been some super storms the past month within the US.

CT needs this type of plating for heavy storms.

It's funny how looks, politics, etc. go out the window when utility and survival are needed ?.

Had a storm in St. Louis last week and a few CT owners went to help provide power and assistance to those in need. This should open people's eyes about the CT and those owners. Thank you.

Our power went out last night from a storm. We don’t have an easy switch over, but I woke up this morning, pulled my truck up beside the house, ran an extension cord in the window and plugged in the fridge, Internet and the Jackery that runs my husband’s CPAP. Power should be back by this evening, but it’s great to not be trying to keep food cold. Well run more cords if the need comes up. Easy switch over would be nice for the well, but probably not worth the cost for us.
