Tesla Cybertruck 8 Hours PPF Wrap by TWRAPS - $1699.95 DIY / $3199.95 with install USA FLAG

Hey folks!

The last many months I've been busy developing an in-house cut pattern for the Cybertruck (for a DIY wrap). Let's face it - the CT is one of the easiest vehicles to wrap and still - you buy a pre-cut kit and then folding over those edges can be tricky as they weren't made properly (generic pattern!). Some require you remove mirrors or fender flares too, wasting unnecessary time. None of the cut models account for material stretching during squeegeeing often times requiring trimming.

I am happy to announce that we now have our own custom developed wrap that is just perfect without cutting any corners (yes it does fold around the edges, but in a way that makes it easier). It's the easiest wrap to install - it takes 8 hours for a single person (yeah you will be beat in the end). I will be uploading the install video within a day or two.
You can get it from our store at:
https://twraps.com/products/ppf-full-wrap-wrap-for-cybertruck

A few notes on how this is different than everything else on the market:
  1. It's a better custom made cut pattern (by us, also Cybertruck owners), not the generic one you get almost everywhere else. That means - it's easier & faster to achieve perfect wrap by yourself.
  2. It's better PPF - we've contracted a PPF factory to customize the glue to work great for the Cybertruck. It's pressure sensitive which allows you to easily reposition but once you squeegee it - it stays firm.
  3. It's PPF. For $1700 you get PPF with 8 years warranty, not vinyl that will tear after the first rock hits you on the freeway.
  4. Because of all this, we're able to offer it with installation for $3200 at TWRAPS HQ in Concord, California. Not only that, you can pick it up a day after you drop it off, unlike traditional shops that will keep it for 4-5 days.
Note: We can offer more colors, we will be officially adding several new colors per week but if there is a particular color you don't see but want - just let me know.
Note 2: Right this moment we do not offer an install kit. This will come soon, but in the meantime check out the FAQ on our website for recommended install tools.

I can also offer $300 off to the first few people who want to get it and are willing to post photos + explain about their experience here in the forums. If so please DM me for details.

Happy to answer any questions you may have... in the meantime, here is part of what my own CT endured during the development of this product (with the top picture being the newest - this is the wrap I am keeping for now).

$3200 is WAY more reasonable than most other shops. I never understood why it would take some shops 4-5 days to wrap the angular Cybertruck exterior.

Every panel is virtually flat, It doesn't even have door handles.

Happy that you brought that up! A few personal observations:
1. Most shops charge a "new fancy vehicle premium". It will subside over time.
2. Shops use patterns from XPEL, 3M etc... I've seen these patterns and they are focused on optimizing material use only, not on ease of installation. A shop would have a lot more work to do based on a poor pattern than, some corners for example would require trimming, some stretching (near the bottom of the quarter panels for example) and then possibly trimming etc. They'd need to take apart the fender flares and the mirrors in some cases, in other cases they need to take apart the bumper and the lightbar to get access to these places - all because of a poor cut pattern. Because the folks who do the cut patterns do them based on 3D scans, without testing much, as long as it merely fits it's acceptable, but it's never a priority to make it easier & faster.
Let me put it that way - 90% of the CT wrap takes about 1/2 with a poor cut pattern. The other 10% may take the rest of the time if you are struggling with corners, edges, disassembly/assembly etc, on top of it - I found out that it makes a huge difference whether you wrap around 2mm or 10mm for example - with 10mm being much easier.
3. Just FYI I realize that even our price is a bit high given that this can be completed by 1 person in 1 day. I hope to reduce it once we get some experience - right now, I am factoring in risks associated with the release of a new product, in a way that we can move forward. Once we have a dozen or so installs, and I have a better risk profile of what could possibly go wrong, I will likely be able to afford to reduce the price.

Help me to figure out how to get this done in Austin please!!!!
Give it a day or two for my graphics designer to regain conciseness after the rendering sprint we went through, and once he's ready with my DIY video & I upload it, check it out. I will post here. This truly is an easy to apply wrap. I know people are going to doubt my claim that it can be done by a single person in 8hrs, so I actually had the camera rolling the entire time. It's about 8hrs of footage that he has to go through and cut it down as much as he can so people may actually watch it (maybe).

As for install services - once I do a few of these locally in our HQ, I will work on expanding. I just need to do a few myself to get experience as this is the first time we are doing customer installs, we are generally a factory not a shop, but I want to diversify into services too hence this...

I almost wrapped my CT. Then I realized I didn't want to baby the truck. I love that I can park between two cars in a lot and not worry about door dings or scratches. Plus the wrap company couldn't print "foundation series" it is too small and they still wanted $7,500 for PPF 5 days to complete job.

I hear you about the parking situation. One of the reasons I love the CT - couldn't care less if I park in a tight spot. Have in mind that door dings affect wraps way less than they affect paint. For most minor stuff, a wrap would not show it. With that said $7500 for 1 CT is expensive indeed.

How does the PPF hold up against pressure washing?
If you wrapped the edges nicely without leaving anything peeling off, it holds great so far (it's been on my CT for several months in one form or another, during testing). There are also no exposed edges if installed properly, so a pressure wash can't actually get into it and lift it up.

Do you guys able to tuck or wrap the PPF around this trim and area? Trying to make sure my local shop can do this right.

Great, question. Simple answer - no. It only wraps above the roof line, does not wrap on the 2 far ends and does not wrap on the bottom. I've tried all versions of this but could not reliably achieve good results if I tried to wrap in the small crevice between the roof line and the fender (the far end), as the hole there is so small that I couldn't get any tool to fit to tuck it in reliably. As for the wrapping on the bottom of the roof line - this takes about 15mins per roof line adding 0 value as you never see this, so for now I've removed that and only wrap on the top. If someone wants it to wrap on the bottom and is willing to add more time to the install I can do that too, I've developed the template for it.
Here is how it looks on mine. Also attaching an image from the front end of the roof line of my cut template. It fits the rounded angle perfectly but only wraps above it. The wrap above is where the cut "tilts" so to say. The tilt is to prevent the wrap from sticking on the opposite (front) side once you wrap around, so you don't have to trim :)

I have no idea to be honest. So far I haven't seen one that wrapped around between the roof line & the fender when using PPF. With vinyl it's more feasible perhaps. As for the bottom wrap - I've seen both.
Here are more photos I just took (sorry, rather poor lighting in the garage) to illustrate how it looks in this area from various angles:

I’d be interested in a Mat Black.
Do you have a branch/outlet in Boston area?
Thanks!
