I know there’s been a lot of speculation about the 9k Ton press being in transit. The giant unfinished area in the casting area is being prepped for a new press. Very likely this is the foundation for the new press. They usually let the concrete cure for a few weeks. That puts installation 3-4 weeks out. So Mid-late December.

This is consistent with the previous videos of IDRA packing it up for shipping a couple weeks ago.

Loved seeing this today!! I spotted the torn up foundation like 2 weeks ago or so?

I hope we get some better views of the bridge cranes built. Looks like it's over the DMG MORI machine.

I am super excited to see HOW they build this truck. Like, how do you actually do this?

Wow… much smaller. Even the JPG is smaller.

Note the gap between the 6 ton foundations. The first 2 are closer together, the third with a gap.. a space is needed to store raw materials for every 2 presses?.

The think we are looking at 2 foundations for the 9T and they are spaced close.

I meant that post to be humorous… clearly missed the mark.

I got the joke , I've gone back and put a lovely smile on it lol

My comments were really in addendum to your post. I wasn't sure if someone had already pointed out that maybe we are looking at 2 possible foundations.

Now I feel like that commedian who tells a bad joke then holds his arms up and sort of begs for sympathy laughs.

I didn’t comment on your above because I’m not quite sure what the 9kT will look like. It’s either 2 of them which will be super super tight, or one REALLY big one.

If there are 2 of them, interesting that they are pouring the foundation for both now. Or perhaps they are just prepping and will pour closer to the date. It is I suppose possible they have one tucked into Elon’s garage and are planning on installing them both very close together.

Why not orient all the casting machines in the same direction? The castings exit the side, and by having two machines face one another, they can use a single robot to retrieve the castings from two machines.

Are they really installing two 9000T presses? Somebody did the math and concluded that the press would need to run 24/7 to hit the targeted run rate of 250,000 Cybertrucks/year. They don't need two machines to start production, but it's a long-term necessity.

Just from a redundancy and risk standpoint they might want to have two 9K giga-presses.

The casting molds are expensive and problably require waiting 6 or more months to get replacements (No just run down to local store or overnight ship replacement).

Changing molds in/out requires time for swapping, re-calibration and testing.
In addition each swap increases risk of accident that could damage the molds or damage the machine.

It's going to be two 9k ton presses, Idra already stated they are working on the second one.

I wouldn't be shoooocked if they black out the windows soon, but like why? but. I wouldn't be shocked though.
