You mention angles. When I first saw the Cybertruck in 2019, it looked like modern art to me. Minimalism in car design. Yesterday I spent about an hour chatting and looking over the granddaddy CT. It's a study in angles, it looks so simple, but it's not!
One of those angles that was striking to me, and really contributes to how large the truck looks is from the front up to the peak of the roof. A Cybertruck in the rearview mirror could be very intimidating!

I guess why it looks like a large car, is because it doesn't look like a truck. I have a large E250 van, so to me the CT didn't seem huge. It looks appropriate size of a pickup truck, but it looks otherworldly.

Nice. Thanks for the new perspectives!

Notice the tweaked pointy end of the sail storage door. Also, take a look at all the steel for the hinge of that tailgate!
Nice shots. Thanks for sharing.

This reminds me of Rivian’s gear tunnel door. People had to get stitches for nasty cuts they got from sharp edge of that door. Imagine tripping and banging your head into this edge or corners.

Way too tight of an angle to make sense of that working as a sail storage door. Also, that's not even close to 3mm thick!

It takes specialized HEAVY duty equipment to fabricate parts/panels out of 3mm stainless. When I looked over this Concept truck it looks like they used light gauge materials for most of the panels. I doubt they had the equipment to make this truck out of 3mm stainless at the design studio where they built this vehicle.

Was thinking the same. Its right where your knee will hit getting into the bed too. Just a big hazard. Don’t think this made it to the prototypes though.

Hey there.

So I'm hoping to go to the Peterson Museum next week to see the CT prototype. I see lots more closeup pictures on here that people have been taking which is great. Somehow ya'll seem to have upgraded from the old potato cams.

Anyway, is there anything else that people want a picture of? If I make it I'll have my iPhone camera for pictures. But I'm also tempted to take a laser tape measure to check some dimensions. Anyone have any requests for what they want to get a picture of or measured?

I'll see what I can do. And of course since this is just the prototype, we all know that design, dimensions, features, etc can and probably will change for the shipping CT. But I'd really like to get a good sense of the prototype so I can better dream about it going forward.

Additionally, I hear that there is some super car exhibit going on too. So it would be nice to get some pictures there too. The last of the dying ICE supercars... Get a record of the dinosaurs before the go extinct.

Please take the length and width measurements of the truck!

It would also be nice to have another data point for bed length, measured at the bottom and top since the bulkhead is sloped.

The DeLorean door has a pointy corner along the bottom front and rear, which is right at scalp level when open. I’ve gashed my head more than once when inattentive, usually from getting in and out repeatedly when detailing.

There are numerous sharp points on the car, but only the elevated ones are a problem. Cybertruck will no doubt have “pointy angles” but I think we’ll be safe without gull-wing doors.

Any pictures are appreciated. Particularly those which show scale. I don’t have anything specific.

I don’t think we’re getting a ton more out of the OG since it’s specs are well known and likely have changed. But I do appreaciate the asking.

we are lacking pictures and measurements inside the cabin. You will not get caught wearing a ninja outfit.
You are correct. I will not get caught wearing a ninja outfit.

Now as for the CT. I’m thinking the laser tape measure or phone LiDAR won’t work through the windows. Perhaps if one or more windows were to break spontaneously. I’ve “heard” they do that from time to time in the presence of a large metal ball bearing. Seems that one such bearing happens to be in close proximity there at the museum. I hear it is right next to a sledgehammer.

Too bad you didn't get the rear suspension. If there is any chance for four wheel steering, a photo of the rear suspension might be revealing.

It's 3 stories of dream cars. Lot's of plug-in supercars too. Just remember the Cybertruck there is not what production will be. Here's some photos of other cars.

Great car pictures. I look forward to seeing them in person. As a kid, I was in love with Lambo Contach. Still want to drive a lambo some time (maybe just rent one for a day). But other than that, Tesla is the company for me. Till some other companies get their acts together and actually make compelling cars with compelling infrastructure (Tesla chargers come to mind) I'll stick to Tesla. And my CT is pretty much a futuristic lambo with true offroad capability so it satisfies my long term dream.
