I did really love having the digital mirror in my Hummer EV SUT. It was a good resolution, bright, you could zoom in/out, etc. Another nice side benefit is you never had to adjust it for different driver profiles manual since its just a screen.

Are you referring to the streaming media screen?

See Chuck Cook video of the Hansshow.

Nice video and he covers the subject well. I have to compliment Chuck's camera installation. Pretty nice work!

IMHO, the rearview mirror and associated software for screen display is the biggest failure in the CT. I have looked at the Hannshow camera system. I think their rear-view camera's FOV is still too wide to make out the details of vehicles behind you. It also includes things we don't need like a front looking camera. There is still a market for the right camera system dedicated to the CT.

I am in complete agreement with your comments. I would also add that any aftermarket solution should include a streamlined housing for the rear camera. We shouldn't have to 3-D print one for ourselves.

Does anyone know if it turn's on and off automatically?

Definitely the biggest L of the Cybertruck IMO. Digital Mirror should be standard. Very dangerous to not be able to see behind you when turn signal is on.

Between the wiper issues and the rear view mirror issue I am not sure which bothers me the most. I love my Cybertruck but as soon as a solution presents itself that meets my needs for the rear view mirror replacement I will seriously consider it. My needs are likely shared by many:

- 4 channel support (L, R, Front, Rear)
- High resolution
- Bright/clear day or night
- Zoomable
- Selectable views (1 channel, 2 channels, 3 channels - LRFront or LRRear)
- Ideally would merge the 3-channel video streams into a single view
- Can use Tesla cameras or extra cameras
- Professionally installed (I do not want to mess up my truck with my own fumbling around)

I do not need 'dashcam' features as Tesla already provides them, so no need for recording, wifi connectivity, time, weather, obstacle detection, etc.... just the camera feeds and to be able to select which feeds are shown at any time.

A lot of what you are asking must donā€™t want . I doubt you ever find something that has everything. The chances of Tesla letting any 3rd party tapping into the stock camera is slim.

What am I asking for that most people donā€™t want? Doesnā€™t Tesla already provide most of those features? They just arenā€™t available in a rearview mirror or controllable by us.

I donā€™t really want my rearview mirror tapping into Teslaā€™s cameras. Their cameras are intended for navigation and FSD but not for observing traffic as a driver. For example, the rear camera needs to be higher and further back from the tailgate (like what Chuck did) and have a narrower field of view. The Hansshow solution, if it were a 4-channel solution; would be fine. So I suggested it to them. If no one wants a 4-channel solution they wonā€™t do it, but there are several 4-channel solutions out on the market so ā€˜someoneā€™ other than me must want it.

I want the same but I agree that it will most likely be with an additional camera rather than the Tesla feed. Unless Tesla makes a digital mirror to replace the current one.

I was one of the first people to install a camera rear view mirror on my channel . It works perfectly and only cost around $140 I did not install the front camera since itā€™s not needed to me . You best option is just pick a 4 channel camera on Amazon and dyi it
