I do like the expedition rack system, but it is much smaller only covering half the rear truck, while your competition has larger full bed kits priced a decent amount lower. I would think it would be the opposite. If their full-bed system is $2k this half-bed system should be like $1500. Just my opinion. That is the kind of retail price point that would get me to purchase.

I also would like it if you guys gave specifics on weight ratings. Right now it is all generalities with no warranty. Aka you are saying we think it can do X, we don't know for sure though, so it is on you the owner if it fails. That sucks for us owners. Figure it out please and then stand behind it.

Hey! Thanks so much for your feedback. We’re excited to see that Cybertruck owners have plenty of aftermarket options today, as different people value different features and have their own preferences. However, we’d like to briefly address a few points you brought up.

1. At Mars, we don’t price products based on size or competition—and we never will. We focus on versatility, functionality, ruggedness, and aesthetics, as all are equally important. We’re proud of our products and stand behind their design and quality, which involve significant engineering and effort. We believe great design is priceless.

2. You can’t compare carbon steel to aluminum—both cost and weight differ significantly between the two. Our products also feature a single-piece design with NO exposed bolts, and it isn't cheap to achieve it.

3. The weight rating we include in our product descriptions is directly sourced from the Cybertruck user manual. We stick to what Tesla has claimed, as all aftermarket brands should. It’s crucial that customers understand the OEM’s specifications, and we make it a priority to follow them. Since we can’t control how products are used post-installation, it’s important to protect both our customers and ourselves.

Our ultimate goal is to inspire more people to enjoy off-roading and overlanding with their electric vehicles. We design products we personally use every day. While we understand that our products may not suit everyone, those who have purchased from us seem very happy with their experience so far—that’s what matters to us! Thanks again for your thoughts, and have a great day!

Response 1, I get engineering and time, effort, etc. However, you still have to price yourself within the marketplace or suffer the consequences. It’s a delicate balance for sure. Hence why Ford, Rivian and others all selling EVs at a loss, they can’t afford not too. End of day would you rather sell 10x units at $1500 or 1 at $2500 kind of thing. It’s your business decision, all good.

2. Awesome to hear, I am willing to pay more for a higher quality product not sure $1k more though. I would do a detailed comparision that helps educate consumers like me. I wouldn’t know any of that without your response.

3. This is part of engineering. I am not an engineer, I do work with a team of them though as I am over see a manufacturing company, unrelated industry, though I’m very versed in structural engineering and running calcs. Yes I understand what Tesla states, regardless of that I need facts. I need to know what I can safely put in it. If Tesla says 200 static load per cross bar (not sure if that is what they state) and you are utilizing a total of 3 sets of crossbars to mount your system, does the 200x3 apply or does it multiply out further because load is distributed across full frame of truck. I don’t know, but if I’m building a roof top company selling high end products, with an engineering team…. I would aim to find the answer and then offer a warranty standing behind it. That would help justify the higher price point.

Can I mount a rooftop tent that is say 180 lbs, 2 adults at avg say 175, 1 child say 50 lbs, 20 lbs in random sleeping goods and clothing (600 pounds), plus the weight of your unit? Whatever that may be….. can it take all that? Sounds like there is no for sure answer. I want a hard factual answer this will hold 750 pounds and we will stand behind it under that threshold. The company that answers that definitively will for sure get my business.
