Much like the Cybelandr it does seem to be an engineering nightmare. In any event, I'm encouraged by competition in the bed-mounted segment as I plan to camp in mine but like many people, I'm concerned that towing a trailer will certainly slaughter range.I like that people are thinking about it.
Not sure materials can do that, tho.
I have been refining my ROCC(roll over cab camper/Patent Pending) concept. By adding drive motors and a remote I think I can get the full deployment time down to 5 minutes and it can be done with one person. This would have up to 800 watts of solar available all the time. I was also pessimistic on the weight. I think I can get it down to 500 to 700 lbs depending on options. (200 of which is removable). I have also eliminated several loose parts and penetrations. Too many pros to mention over all the concepts I have seen to date.Interesting concept!
