Any fixes for rear tailgate release exterior button

The exterior buttons on the rear of the truck that control the vault and truck release is starting to act up. The tailgate release button has completely stopped working. App and interior controls still work so it appears to be just that button.

Has anyone figured out if this is easily fixed or is this a service center trip?

Moisture has probably found its way into the connection.
I remember from another post that after a short while(maybe a drying period) the switch started to work again.

maybe try to get to the switch and dry it.. then add a moisture-resistant resistant to it if possible
