Has anyone used their credit and actually gotten PowerShare? I've talked to like 7 different companies and they either want 12,000 bucks or don't even quote me.

my panel is directly beside my charger in my garage , I was an electrician for years, this is maybe a 4 hour job. This is asinine.

After quite a long wait in South Texas, ChargeCo installed mine a few days ago, backing up a sub panel in my garage around 30 ft away, surface mounting the gateway, surface mounting wire in conduit to the ceiling, and fishing wire through the attic to the charger.

Quote was for $4700 (net $700 to me after Tesla credit. It was a bit more work than they originally estimated after on site inspection so not sure if this will go up a little.

They have not invoiced me as of today, so have not paid them yet.

As I said on another thread, my first quote after having the truck for 6 months was 20k out of pocket. I was told that my 200 amp panel was overloaded.. want to upgrade me to a 400 amp panel. Once installed they said that my powerwalls would no longer function properly.. I said pass....

In Florida I believe you need FPL to inspect and approve all wiring and installation. That is if you are going use the Tesla gateway. Qmerit via the approved installar subsequently coordinates with Tesla to ā€˜turn it onā€. I have been waiting for six months. There were 21 CTs in the queue so trying to be patient. Mine relates to the 4k installation credit. I don’t know how the installation would work with third party equipment.

I got the quote from two Tesla-certified electricians. The one I finally used was the one that had an ad in the Tesla place at the mall. First quote $6300…the second quote $3600 (which included installation of universal wall charger). My PowerShare and universal charger was $2500 and I used my $2500 voucher, so that didn’t cost me anything.
My advice…get 2 or more quotes.

I got mine installed about 4 months after receiving my Cyberbeast, with no visible external conduits, gateway surface mounted next to electrical panel, my main electrical panel was converted into a subpanel that backs-up the entire house, the gateway is now considered to be the main electrical panel, Universal wall charger was installed about 30 feet away from gateway, on the outside corner of my garage which accommodates charging an EV from 5 different, surrounding parking spots including 2 spots inside the garage, all for $155.00 out of pocket not including the original price of my beast of course.

Yes I was able to get mine for exactly $4,000 so the credit covered it completely. 6 months after I got my truck. Houston Texas.

For me Wi-Fi turned out to be the biggest headache and prevented setting up the device. I ended up spending another $1,000 to redo all of my homes Wi-Fi with an access point near the power share gateway.

Just got mine installed in Southern California. I used the credit but it was an extra 2500$ above that which was kinda sprung on me later on in the agreement. Based on other options I’ve used in past for back up power I’m betting I’m going to be very grateful for this set up in the future (as example I have a goal zero portable battery back up that was 6k). So overall I think I will look back later and think it was an underpriced set up.

I'm still working on getting a decent quote that isn't over inflated because they know you have a credit to use.

My Powershare installation was $2,394. Was an AWD, so no credit, but that shouldn't change the job. In my favor, I had my wall connector installed previously in my 2nd garage (75' run) so it was only $280 to replace that. The supplemental work was moving a single 20A circuit (my fridge) from my 2nd panel to the one being backed up.

The job took 2 people most of the day. New lines from the meter to the gateway, lines from the gateway to the main panel, separation of all grounds and neutrals in the main panel (it's a sub-panel now). Installer provided the 200A main disconnect breaker for the gateway and a new 60A breaker for the wall connector. Gateway uses Eaton breakers, so couldn't reuse my SquareD. They used copper wire, so they were obviously making enough profit on the job that they weren't motivated to go with much cheaper (but harder to work with) aluminum. All told, I'd estimate $500 or so in installer provided materials. It required a meter pull by the utility and clean inspection to get it turned back on by the end of the day, so I'm content paying a premium.
