I wonder if Tesla is holding to the $7k early lock-in price for FSD.

They are currently avoiding it by offering 100,000 or so Foundation Series options in the hopes people will pay the extra money and forgo their $7k FSD in order to get the truck in the next couple of years.

There are multiple threads here, some as recent as from today, which discussed the exact same question as you are wondering. Feel free to use the search for detailed discussion, and/or read your preorder contract.

Bottomline is that there is no reason for Tesla NOT to honor the FSD price--the pre order has explicit statement to that effect. (You may note that the preorder had no such statement about the price of the Cybertruck,)

Yes, that is exactly why Tesla created the Foundation Series, to bundle up all the options for ONE price and force-fed it to all the early adopters. Foundation invites are mostly sent out to those who had FSD checked. Tesla might be able to clear out all those $7000 FSD reservations with the Foundation invites before opening regular orders.

If you agree or not, the consequence of FSD being bundled in the $20K up-charge means those who purchase a FS truck and were going to get FSD anyway, are conveniently ignoring the additional 5K charge when they rationalize the 'value' they're getting.
