Other sorts of pattern polishing are quite possible:Yeah, but what do you do when that's as 'out of style' as avocado green refrigerators? I just think it'll look stupid and dated after a while. I'll stick with factory finish. I like it!

(no doubt other providers also exist, that was just one I happened to find with a few quite different examples)
Even plain stainless has had its ups and downs to a degree, such as in the same context as your example, kitchen appliances. Granted that the overlapping circle pattern looks a bit old-time, not all patterns need suffer from that horrible burden (if one regards it as a burden rather than something that will sooner or later be nicely retro).
