Imagine those big pieces we saw in the Cybertruck being slotting in, instead of many pieces, bit stamped and cast pieces linking together.

Wonder how those big frame pieces are put together. We know they don’t have a gigapress.

I see lots of structural composite material, it would be interesting if the frame was one big composite piece.

They're composites, so baked, not cast. The frame is four composite pieces.

Ooh. That is fascinating. It is more labor intensive and slower than GP, but they don’t have Tesla’s scale.

Traditionally. But the company they're contracting with is automating it. They're light, easily shipped, and that means there are fewer pieces at later stages of assembly.

Saves alot of steps, honestly, and expensive welding.

Cool space age share too!

Hope it comes out soon with flying version with retractable drone propellers.

I have a 400 mile version on pre-order, our next car will likely be either the Cybertruck, or the Aptera depending on what happens job wise in the next year.

You’ve got it backwards.

There are already flying versions of this. This is the groundborn version of an aircraft.
Yeah right, 90 seconds in test flights!

Of course, I forgot, honest to goodness real, viable and practical flying cars.

No… Aptera is based loosely on a proper small airplane not one of oversized drone things. Aerodynamics, wheel pods, composite structure. All come from the airplane industry.

(Not any particular one, but similar to this one for example)

Actual flying, in service aircraft.

That's an airplane.

We are talking flying cars.

You know, this is where when we are caught in traffic in 101 Bay Area/SF, you can extend wings with drone propellers for a VTOL, fly a few miles, land in your office's garage and retract your wings to park. Or maybe, fly from you own driveway into your office's garage if you really need to go and start work early. :p
