Can someone summarize so the rest of us can avoid giving the article the clicks it's looking for?

Let me explain it to you.... NO... there is not time. Let me sum it up.....

1) it starts with Elons "sub micron" email.....

"However, the real problem here is that these aesthetic troubles are rooted deep in the very nature of its design, which may make them extremely hard—if not impossible—to fix unless there is a complete redesign, as we foretold back in January."

2) "Musk’s observation refers to the problems in the body of the Cybertruck, which include misaligned doors and uneven surfaces that make the car look wobbly, weird, and very unlike the clean angled renders Tesla has presented over the years. It’s a mess that underscores the inherent challenges"

3) He quotes Adrian Clarke:“The Cybertruck is a low polygon joke that only exists in the fever dreams of Tesla fans that stands high on the smell of Elon Musk’s flatulences.”

4) Oh, and a quote from our forum! So feel free to shame him here, he'll see it: "Or, as one of the Cybertruck Owner Club’s forum participants, quipped in response to Musk’s email: “If all of the CTs parts were either soda cans or legos this would be an easy command to obey.”

5) Long detailed recount of the delays (as if that's relevant to the main point)

6) Long explanation of how flat panels can't work, they must be stamped for curves to add strength (apparently, he's never seen how the Chris Craft mahagony runabout boats which are (now) plywood over frame and then solid wood on top. All of it flat panels forced to curves by the frame).

7) "All those dead flat panels are] going to vibrate and they’re going to have massive problems stamping those panels and having them keep their shape,”

8) "Tesla, once the shining beacon of electric vehicle innovation, is under an increasingly critical spotlight due to persistent quality issues. “Twenty years from now, you really think that they’re going to dominate the auto market? Not a chance,” said Columbia University Professor Emeritus Bruce Greenwald":unsure:🤣

9)Oooh... he points out that Michael Bury is always shorting TSLA

10) Continuous poor ratings from JD Powers

11) Clarke again: "There are going to be so many problems with the manufacturing of this vehicle’s atrocious design that only a few will be produced or it will end looking very differently."

12) Especially one that, in the precise, micron-level accurate wordsof Frank Stephenson—one of the most influential automotive designers of our time—is cold, sterile, and almost repulsive.

:ROFLMAO:

The article discusses serious problems with Tesla's Cybertruck design that may necessitate a complete redesign. Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, expressed concerns about the aesthetics of the Cybertruck's body, which includes misaligned doors and uneven surfaces due to its angular design. Musk's demand for extreme precision in manufacturing, comparable to LEGO-like accuracy, is challenging given the nature of the vehicle's design. The article points out that achieving such precision is impractical for production as it doesn't consider factors like thermal expansion and contraction during manufacturing and operation.
The Cybertruck's unconventional design has led to significant challenges, including difficulties in achieving the required dimensional accuracy, potential problems with crash and pedestrian impact regulations, and issues with panel stamping due to its flat surfaces. The article suggests that the design may lead to difficulties in repair and maintenance, as imperfections in the stainless steel body can't be easily fixed.
This article also highlights broader concerns about Tesla's quality control. The company's vehicles have faced numerous quality issues, resulting in poor performance ratings, lawsuits, and criticism. The Cybertruck's design flaws are seen as emblematic of a larger trend within Tesla, and if not addressed, these issues could overshadow the company's technological advancements and quality.
The article concludes by suggesting that the Cybertruck's manufacturing challenges could lead to limited production or a significant design change. It raises questions about the necessity of another heavy truck on the road with a design that some experts find cold and unappealing.

So basically a bashing article similar to ones on Model S, Model X, Model 3 and Model Y..... its like mainstream fake news. When you disrupt, expect to have stones thrown at you. Every legacy OEM would (and will) die for what Tesla has accomplished.

I used to frequent Reddit and specifically the subreddit r/electricvehicles. The majority of users have very similar takes as this article. It's been very strange watching supposedly huge fans of EVs trash talk this vehicle and even more so Tesla. I get the vehicle, visually, isn't loved by everyone. But it's an EV, so bashing it makes zero sense to me. I don't like the F150 lightning or handful of other EVs, but the more the merrier.

lots of folks here with same attitude toward other BEVs

though, some of the more ardent ones have recently seemed to shift focus toward forums that pay cash for impressions

This is the kind of ignorance and inability to think outside the box. Just like the stock analysts, everything is judged based on how the legacy companies have done it. Sure, flat F150 panels would be a mess, but CT isn't using panels with the same thickness as an F150. And when you use a panel as a stressed member, you don't get the same vibrations or flutter. And the more stress, the less the panel wants to move from an outside force. That email hasn't been acknowledged as an actual email from Elon. Until then, there is a possibility that he actually didn't write it.

Haters gonna hate
