Hello all. Any issues, future problems that can occur when the battery is depleted to 0?

My truck is at service center body shop to take care of issues with scratches they caused. Just saw that the battery is 0%. Now I am worried that this can lower the battery capacity, etc. or affect other modules of the truck.

Go charge it. Even if you have to ask them to plug in to the wall with the Mobile Connector. At the very least they would have to deal with a ride that they cannot move at some point.

I mean… there would be no way to prove it, the battery and drive train warranty are 8yrs/150k miles. If your battery shits the bed before then you're covered anyway… and really if it shits the bed after that, they will say that one time had nothing to do with it

No issues. It is only an issue if it recurs many times. (I spoke to a Tesla Technician about it.)

Is your bodyshop even competent to be working on an EV? Maybe they know better but are just not very good at managing.

Because they are just costing themselves money if they need to jump start it. It makes me wonder if they even know what they're doing. Just call them up, maybe you caught it before the 48V battery died and they won't have to jump start it.

Unfortunately these things happen. You need to message them in the app to please plug in the truck. They will see it right away and go plug it in

I had to tell a shop 2 years ago that if they let my battery discharge any further, I would be sending them an invoice for damages.

You have to be absolutely on top of everyone about your battery health. Unfortunately discharging to nearly dead not good for the battery.

I they actually have to move the vehicle outside to the destination chargers to charge. They generally don’t have chargers inside. (Maybe for local code reasons. Even though “we” have chargers inside our own garages. Ha)
Before today, I thought every Service Center would have a charger at each service bay, but they do not. The only reason NOT to is for building code reasons. Right?

I meant that theres no way to prove that the one time they let it drop to 0 is the reason it only gets 69% of its original capacity at year 10 as opposed to natural degradation. If it abnormally degrades within the warranty period, it will be replaced regardless under warranty.
There is the story of the guy who used his m3 for ride sharing and put 120k miles on it in 15 months… tesla made him pay to replace the battery.

I would keep a screen shot for your records, but the vehicle log will keep that information that it was in service during that time. (You always want to have backup evidence in life, of course.) My previous experience with Tesla is that the story shared online is only part of the true story/situation.
I would NOT be worried. But I would make sure that the technicians are tracking.

Thanks everyone. I did message service. Out of the country right now. Not sure if they called the body shop but they put it on the charger. 120v!

Was just worried this will kill my capacity or bug out some modules. I'm not sure how long it was 0%, but it was 1% last night. So I hope it didnt affect the 48V battery

I had work done on my Model 3 at a non-tesla panel shop who were familiar with EVs. They made sure the charge never went below 50%. if it is with tesla shop - I would have no problems with requesting it get plugged in.
