Im looking to change vehicles and unsure the best way to hand off my cyber truck. Have $70k in financing left and think the truck is worth about that. What’s the easiest / best way to simply hand off the truck? Carvana? Trying to be as hassle free as possible without making it a full time job.

Love the truck but my use case has changed.

By far carvana is the easiest. Of course you could probably get more from private sale, but it’s also more of a pain in the ass. They offered me 70500 for my awd with 12k miles when I was consisering upgrading to a cyberbeast.

I’ve done Carvana and Carmax. Carvana was faster, but Carmax wasn’t bad. I’d say go with whichever gives you more money.

Thanks. Both are new things for me. Do they come and inspect and “pick up” the vehicle? Cause that’d be amazing. I’m thinking of going that route. Thx.

Add Cargurus onto the list. At least a few years ago they were the best out of the 3 in terms of maximum offer. Easy process, they picked it up from my driveway and gave me a check.

I’ve done carMax three times. Super easy, fair. On the last deal they were $3 k higher than the Tesla trade offer. I ended up taking the Tesla offer because it was slightly better due to the way Florida handles sales taxes with trades.

I am getting significantly higher offers with Tesla trade, compared to carvana or carmax. If you are thinking in getting another Tesla vehicle

Carvana did offer a pickup, but I elected to go the drop-off route. Pickup option was $150 IIRC; it wasn't free.

I've sold Carmax one of my vehicles en route to the airport (deployed so much, I rarely drove it).Ended up getting $1500 over what I owed even after not putting any money down.

You can schedule the appraisal with them in advance to save time. It takes them minutes to inspect vehicle and return with an offer and they are totally separate from sales, so they don't bother you with that.

You can also get online quote but I think they default you to submitting pics. I don't remember if that had to do with the wrap or not.

Carvana will ask you about condition, but they wont ask for photos. If you opt for pickup, someone will show up with one of those Carvana single car haulers, and they will do a short inspection to confirm what you said is true. They will also drive around the block in it. Then they will upload a few docs, and have you sign a few things. You'll probably get your direct deposit the next day. I have sold 2 cars to Carvana. Each time they had the best offer. They have been the smoothest, easiest transactions I have done. They only changed me $40 out of my payment amount, to do the pickup at my place. This saved me 2 hours minimum driving, 1 hour each way, to their location. Well worth the $40!. I just sold them a 2016 Model X last week. The process was fast, perfect, and the compensation was fair. It was strange, because each time, I expect it to be like trading a used car, and its nothing like that. I do not know why anyone would put themselves through that.
All that said, I just checked Carvana for used Cybertrucks this morning, they had 7 and all were in the process of being bought by customers. So you may have a little leverage for a slightly better deal, as they seem to sell these pretty easily.

Carmax is pretty easy, especially if you have a location near by, just go, drop it off for an hour come back and get your offer.
You will end up getting about 15% than private sale, BUUUTTTT have about 30x less hassle.
Prepare to take a haircut on the wrap and any extras as they won't adjust the value for that.
Depending on miles they may offer under what you still owe at 70k
