Bike Pad Success! Yakima Gatekeeper Tailgate Pad installed

It's time to start hauling my mountain bike around. I've found that the Yakima, Gatekeeper Tailgate Pad works really well. It was kind of a guessing game for me so passing along that this works well. The camera opening works and the straps are easy to pass through. Pro tip, there is a gap in the middle that is much easier to pass the straps through. I highly recommend passing the straps through there and moving to the ends.

Is it to big to fit in the vault completely? Might be a very large bike.

It's easier to grab the bike and keep it still if it's hung on the tailgate. It has nothing to do with size of the bed.

I ordered the medium as it seems that the large is wider than the tailgate.

Thank you, I would of made the incorrect assumption that the CT needs the large at first glance.

It looks great. I went with Dakine pickup pad halfside as i don’t need to carry more than 2 bikes.

I've seen guys with four on it, since bikes can overlap a bit. (I've seen other tailgate pads with more...)

There must be thousands who come to Rincon or Empire Grade over the year and I gotta get past them to get to town ^-^ So I see alot of different solutions.

Was looking to get the gatekeeper too. Are you able to have the bike straps sit on top of tailgate? Looks like your pad is pulled more towards inside of bed?
