Anyone have to do an emergency stop yet? Had to push the brakes fairly hard yesterday when a large object flew onto the highway causing traffic in front of me to suddenly stop and swerve. I had good follow distance at 70mph but did not have enough stopping power to avoid the car in slowing front of me that any of my previous cars would’ve easily avoided.

Luckily i was able to switch lanes before impact.

I will try to purposely make some hard stops later and see whats going on.

I do not yet have first hand experience but if you look at this vid, the CT stops pretty well in comparison to a Lamborghini Urus.

I had to do a hard stop (my fault for not paying attention…) in the rain/sleet a couple of weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I stopped. That being said I legit stomped the brakes all the way to full stop. Full blown panic mode on my part!! 😂😂

Just posted this in a different thread!

I did have a simIliad braking situation. Came into a left turn on Yellow a lil hot 😜 and was surprised with my lack of braking before I initiated my tun. Luckily I slowed down enough to make the turn, but the mass and brake fade defiantly had an effect on its stopping/slowing abilities. Deffinatly an “Oh shit” moment!! And before everyone gets on me about driving a large vehicle too fast, I hold a CDL and I’ve been driving, tankers, dump tucks, and vacuum loaders for 30+ years

Only mentioning to see if anyone else has a had a similar experience

brake fade? were you on a race track? There shouldn't be any fade under normal conditions.

CT Took 3-4 car lengths longer to stop! Lol

Yeah, but Urus weights 2000lbs less, has performance summer tires, and is also a Lamborghini, with brakes likely inspired by its siblings.

So I mean in comparison, not too bad for the CT.

It “felt” like brake fade. Was all in and didn’t get much of a response. The brakes were not hot and regen was on.
The maximum braking of the Cybertruck should be traction limited by the tires, not the power of the brakes. If yours is not, take it to the service department so they can diagnose and fix it under warranty.

Also, was coming down a steep hill towing a trailer and tried stopping for a stop sign….. I ended up rolling right through the sign.
I initially blamed myself for that one but after this highway incident I believe the brakes on the CT need an upgrade/update. Unless mine is defective

Yup brake fade is exactly what it felt like. Just weird to have brake fade while cruising on a highway. Pushed hard on the pedal and the truck just kept rollin.
