At one time tesla help desk would log in ota. Troubleshooting it. All the while talking to us. Then they stopped that because new phone hires had zero knowledge. Then it took an appointment, a few days. Now it takes weeks if not months.
Do you see a trend here?? My SC is under staffed. Un trained.

Brand new AWD VIN 69XXX is bricked in my driveway. Not a single error message or anything weird when I got home from work yesterday with about 100mi left. Plugged it in and it started to charge just fine. Nice weather, mid 60s. Went to get in today and completely unresponsive to keys and cannot connect to my phone. Charging cord is stuck plugged in and roadside side they can't connect to the truck either, so it's getting towed. Of course - it's Saturday so I can't get a loaner (which is INSANE when you think about it) there are loaners sitting in the lot and I can get assigned one via the app so why is that not possible?

This absolutely wrecks the thought of taking this thing hunting, camping etc. Real confidence loss overall in the CT platform.

**Update - was able to jump open frunk and then jump the 12v which let us get inside, unplug and get it in tow mode. Had a ton of error messages.
Sorry man, FYI there is a manual charge port release leveler / pull loop cord, open the tailgate it's a small panel adjacent to the fender charge port. Here is an image.

That said this is really poor design be completely locked out or IN your EV.

There should be an independent watchdog circuit that will detect the main system shutdown and allow for door, truck, bed access and tow mode.

Mine is 4400 VIN, perfect reliability. And I've beat it up incessantly off-road and on horrible roads. It lives outside in the rain, snow and sun 24/7.
"Lives Outside"? That's blasphemy and CT abuse! Luckily I have a shop with extra room! (It wouldn't fit in the same garage with my wife's Model X!)

OK then, you had better not take any ICE vehicle hunting or camping either. Because this has happened with every vehicle model ever put into production. What matters are the rates of undrivable vehicles, not that it happened to you!

I don't have 100% confidence in any vehicle, even though modern vehicles have a very low rate of being undriveable, and I (and most others) have never had a single reliability issue with our Cybertrucks..
Good point.
My favorite recent recall is the 3 million gas cars per NHTSA recall "Park Outside Recall" due to spontaneous combustion.
That story sure got buried fast. Didn't it?

My ford lightning drained the 12 volt battery while parked and had no cell phone service. bricked the truck. learned that I could attach a battery booster and get the truck started to get it on tow truck. it killed the 12 volt battery, which they replaced for free. I always make to not park vehicles in the spot anymore. truck had access to the wireless router and internet service in that spot but not cell service. my guess is it kept trying to get cell service until it drained the battery.

Sorry this happened. This forum is great to get you back on the road ASAP next time. This happened on my Ford Maverick 3 times the first year. It’s a loose battery harness on the hybrid battery. I just learned to carry a lithium jump battery and a still waiting for them to include my VIN in the already recalled lot of trucks. Brave that truck to my son and got the CT. Is seen many days on the service center but I’d never trade it in for a different truck- except maybe a CB with free supercharging. Maybe.

Literally just shared this same option for Ford!

My VIN is 18k with 12k mileage, so far the only slight problem is the drivers side mirror as it’s folding, it skips. Mobile service is coming on the 7th to replace it. Other than that, 3 major long distance (2,9k round trips) and not a single problem.

The thing is, people think there are more issues than there really are bc people will come to the forums when they have an issue. They rarely post ‘everything’s great, no issues!’

Got mine in December and it’s been 99% perfect. The 1% was when the frunk switch died, and when the service center didn’t install my replacement wiper motor correctly. Note, they changed the motor because I added a service appointment item of, “windshield wiper cannot clean salt slush off windshield”. I did that more as a data point for them but they replaced the motor.

I’m sure once you get this fixed, you’ll have a perfectly fine and great Cybertruck!

I don't disagree! I guess it just *seems* like the rate of randomly undrivable cybertrucks is higher than most (or all) ICE trucks. Time will tell...
I understand your perspective but also hope you recognize you are a sample size of 1 of 1....most of us have not had this issue so it clearly was an aberration not "design

They still do a tone of OTA diagnostics, the computers they use a pretty idiot proof, but some thing still require a visit. And YES they are short staffed like all car repair shops.

@cnemo - any updates on the issue?
Towed to Service Center on Saturday. It is now Monday 8pm and the truck is still sitting in the parking lot at the service center. There have been no updates in the app and they didn't answer either of my messages at 830am or noon. I've owned a Tesla for 6 years so I'm not new to SC visits but this is pretty bad. I called sales and had them transfer me to service right before 5 pm (there is no other way to get service on the phone) and they said I can come in tomorrow to get a loaner. Will update further when I have more info, but I've got a feeling I'm in this repair for the long haul :/

Bought mine in December. Only issue was a slight noise from the passenger window. They tightened it up. Perfect ever since. 10,000 kms. And they gave me a loaner for the day.
When I see these types of complaints on here, I have to wonder if they are real or trolls. At any rate, ICE vehicles have caused me a ton of head aches. It's the nature of the game.
