BROWN LIQUID IN BED from hauling mulch. How to drain? Damage to electronics?

Loaded 40 bags of mulch, about 2000 pounds, into the unlined, factory stock bed. Some of the mulch had water in the bag, which started to leak into the bed. When we returned home, my wife wanted to defer unloading until the next day. However, here’s the question:

- Is there a drain in the bed?
- How bad is it for the CT for this brown liquid to seep into the bed?
- How long can the bed and electronics take exposure until it could damage or corrode the electronics or metal?

I ended up unloading the mulch and drying out the bed, but these answers would be good to know for future reference.

1. There’s a drain plug in the smugglers bay.

No worries
The bed has gaps and will drain.
The suspension air compressor is under there, but elevated with sealed connectors.

I frequent hose out my bed due to sand and whatnot I track in. There’s a small gap near the cab I try to avoid just in case. Spray water agains the wall and it will ricochet back to the bed forcing debris back to the gate enough that you can then use a down spray and get it all out. Although out 220 plugs have a seal on the cover, also avid spraying that area.

works even better if you squat it by finding a hill or curb to pull the front end up on. (Thanks for the squat loading mode Tesla) awe well maybe a future update.

Yes, "squat mode" would be awesome for unloading dirt, gravel, and general cleaning. I'm surprised they didn't include it in that last update.

Another option is to put it in extract, go into service mode, manually deflate the rear airbags. Then let the hosing begin!

I did this exactly once with a truck, and 2 years later was still finding hints of mulch hiding. Never again, it's bags for me.

When my bed has been exceptionally dirty I just take it through the car wash with the tonneau open. It drains at the tailgate. The drain plug is for when you fill up the sub trunk with ice or water.

Nah, it took about an hour with a pressure washer and the mulch was gone, the bed drains amazingly well! NOW ask me about the donuts in the sand dunes and big rooster tails of sand flying into the cabin, that took about 2 months and several hours of vacuuming. BUT I challenge anyone to find any remaining mulch or sand in it!
