Anyone think that the CT might be the perfect vehicle for going to Burning Man? Would certainly be able to get there no problem. The solar panels (and hopefully supplemental solar panels) would provide a good charge so sleeping at night could be climate controlled. Plus one would have a nice exoskeleton that could be decorated without causing too much damage. For that matter, one could do a fanciful wrap. Or even do a clear wrap and let your friends paint it whimsically. Then easily remove or replace the wrap after the festival.

I don't know that I would leave it in the elements, even though it is fairly resistant to the caustic playa dust, dust gets into all the intakes and doorframes and any ports. It's a mess.

My shade structure is designed to fit a car; I was trying to think how to make it merge with the vehicle more seamlessly. Maybe have it clip onto the rack and only cover one side, so one door opens into the structure.

I will need that rack to carry the poles, even if there's a passthrough. But I have wanted to make a tent that could see the stars and lights. The inflatable oncpes can, but they require so much power and are noisy.

Big battery means you don't raise the noise floor.

This should work for me...
Kirkland to Burning Man

Might need to stop in Alturas for a booster charge just in case though.

That road is very dubious, carry extra tires. Most ICE vehicles can't do it. There's an RV park you can maybe charge at the upper end of the Black Rock Desert.

The thing is, there's no charging (or gas) between 395 and Gerlach. There's RV parks and charging in Denio, Lovelock, Fernly... But that's it. And when BRC is on, the charging is highly limited out there. (So is the gas.)

Sounds like an adventure perfect for the CT. I’ll have to plan it out once I actually get my CT.

The problem will be getting juice once you're in the city. There are solar arrays people drag out to charge, could see if you can help/join up with such a group.

BRC only works because everyone is a participant!
