Our rates for our Model Y aren’t bad at all. I’m debating whether Tesla insurance will be worth it. I like to drive fast and twisty roads.
Agree - my Tesla insurance is in total alignment with 5 cars on my policy - literally zero delta with comp valued vehicles..

I to will not sign up for insurance with access to my telemetry :cool:

Why does it matter the Cybertruck isn't the first out of the gate? What matters (and what Tesla has succeeded in doing) is encouraging other automakers to make EVs. That's part of their mission. Tesla, and all the other automakers, are constrained by battery manufacturing capacity. They have to pick and choose what they will make. It only makes sense for Tesla to keep making the existing models since they have the manufacturing capabilities already there and demand for them is more than they can handle anyway. Be patient, Giga Berlin and Giga Texas will be online soon and will alleviate the pressure from their other factories.
The government has had a lot to do with the competition building EV vehicles

I think Elon should have waited 2 years to do the reveal while he built the plant. In Austin.
The CT is a very different and unorthodox pick up truck. Humans are very finicky about new things. Tesla didn't know if we'd love it or hate it. It would have been foolish to build a factory for a product so radical without releasing it to the public and asking "What do you think? If you like it, give me $100."

Considering all of the technological innovations and cap ex required for Cybertruck; their timelines (including potential upcoming delays) are quite impressive when you observe from a macro view.

Consider that the F-150 Lightning was ~4-years to market and was mostly catalogue engineering and reuse of existing supply chain. Rivian is 12-years old and have just come to market this year.

All other OEMs are just starting to build their own EV capabilities while Tesla is further along working things from the materials-level.
