Updated with videos:

Here's a Cybertruck convoy being delivered by Musk.

Per Elon Musk:

Apologies to those expecting Cybertruck deliveries in California over the next few days. We need to use those trucks as mobile base stations to provide power to Starlink Internet terminals in areas of LA without connectivity. A new truck will be delivered end of week.

We are going to position Cybertrucks with Starlinks and free WiFi in a grid pattern in the areas that most need it in the greater LA/Malibu area

Also:

Cybertrucks are also being used as battery banks for Altadena Mountain Rescue.

NEWS: Tesla has donated multiple Cybertrucks to be utilized as battery banks for Altadena Mountain Rescue at their station until power is restored.
This is where the 14,200-acre Eaton Fire is currently raging in LA.
Altadena Rescue: "This will greatly help the team to power radios, computers, and lights as we work into the dark."

I wonder if they will give those expecting delivery a loaner. Imagine if someone sold their vehicle with the expectation that they would be taking delivery of a CT.

Mine was not promised until it arrived at the delivery center. I sold my car a couple of weeks before that since the estimate was earlier. Never occurred to me Tesla would be responsible for my transportation.

Is this how they clear out the rest of the ‘24 inventory? Can the repurposed trucks be written off in some way, then turned into a lease, B2B, or another option? While current orders get the final batch of ‘24s?

My thoughts exactly, this feels like a good PR way of clearing the ‘24s including Foundations sitting on lots, they are doing more good this way than sitting.

I've bought 4 Teslas. Imagine if you sold your vehicle, and the delivery didn't come in for 3 weeks.
Me: Hello.
Tesla: Yes?
Me: I need a loaner because I sold 3 weeks early.

If you sell privately, why do so early? Anything can happen.

This is why Elon is adamant about not having to spend money on traditional advertising.

It's simply not needed.

No need for traditional advertising. Drive a Cybertruck by any elementary school at dropoff/pickup, and 200 kids are jumping for joy. AKA, no need for advertising.
