4.33.0-2668. It suddenly enabled this morning, so I think Tesla push it to customer just like Powersharing feature.

Looks like Tesla finally enables charging on solar for Cybertruck.

Check to see if the AC power outlets in the bed can be activated/supply power while charging from solar or any AC source. I believe a previous firmware enabled the AC truck outlets to be used while DC Supercharging. It would be nice to use the truck battery as a power source/buffer while AC slow charging.

If you had Tesla energy and the $25 plan for unlimited charging, would it be better to sell the solar during the day and just charge at night for free? The plan comes to be around $0.83 a night for charging.

For my ideal use case, the Cybertruck would allow a *direct* (DC only) connection from arbitrarily configured solar array(s). The solar panels wouldn't need to have either microinverters or optimizers attached. I've seen no evidence anywhere that the Cybertruck has an on-board MPPT controller, but I would find it very useful if it were possible to directly connect solar panels to the vehicle, even if it would only result in a "trickle" charge.

Depends on state/utility. If you have TOU (time of use) rates you are correct. It makes more sense financially to sell power to the utility at high rates and recharge at lower rates. However, TOU peak rates don't generally start until mid to late afternoon, so you can solar charge up until then.

Interesting. My app is on 4.33.5-2673 with the Cybertruck on 2024.14.11 and Powerwalls on 23.28.2

Looking forward to the Charge on Solar option

I had this same thought the other day. A DC direct connection should be so much simpler and efficient. Maybe a third party solution from someone?

How about connecting an external solar panel array with an MPPT controller?
Can the DC output from the MPPT be connected to a DC port, like adding another MPPT to the vehicle's power bar? Is there such a port?

Nope, the only port to charge is the NACS port so you’d have to connect the MPPT to charge of some kind, like the mobile charger.
