So I was hanging with some friends last night and we wanted to go ride scooters around the city. We needed 4 of them so we ended up putting 3 of them in the back of my CT till we found a fourth one. It got me thinking that I could prob fit a few of them in the bed plug them into the outlet in the back with a surge protector or something and make a few extra bucks. Anyone ever try this? Can that port provide enough power to charge up say 6 or more scooters? Would it be worth doing as a side hustle? Idk just something that came to mind and thought I'd ask if anyone ever had the same idea.

This is all approximate, of course, but let’s say those things have a 1 kWh battery. Our 240v outlet puts out around 7kW. Charging 7 of them would take an hour. Expensive superchargers are 50 cents per kWh, so even if you doubled that price, you’d be making $7/hr, lower than minimum wage. Doesn’t seem worth it.

I wasn’t even factoring in the price of your electricity. You get $7/hr for your time, then will eventually have to replenish your truck, whatever that might cost you in time or money.

No not really lol. I go try out restaurants in the city every so often and thought it might be a way to pay for dinner while my car is in the parking lot doing nothing.
