I've now passed 5000 miles in my Cyberbeast since April 26th, here is my comprehensive review with the intention of balance between pros, neutrals, and cons. This is based on my own experiences with the vehicle. I have previously owned both a Model 3 and a Toyota Tundra. This is an exhaustive list, and in case you are curious the bottom line of the review is I love my truck, and if it did not live up to the hype/expectations I had for it I would've sold it for a large profit when I had the chance to in April. TLDR; Go and buy one, you will not regret it.
If you want a real-world review, from a regular dude that loves vehicles both gas and electric, I hope you'll find this review provides exactly that!

If you want a real-world review, from a regular dude that loves vehicles both gas and electric, I hope you'll find this review provides exactly that!
Pros -
- Acceleration
- Torque (a dream when towing)
- Ground Clearance
- No paint chips, dents, scratches to worry about
- Infotainment (would like to have an Apple Books app), very fast and no bugs
- Off-roading it is seriously capable, no issues here with what I've done
- I love the sound of the motors, i'm a big car guy and love a V10 or V12 but it sounds great in its own way
- Steer by wire makes maneuvering effortless especially combined with rear-steer
- Rear steer makes the turning radius feel like it's a small car
- I average 375 wh/mi over 5000 miles (328 miles of range). This includes Beast mode launches mixed with driving exactly the speed limit 95% of the time (cops are eager to pull a CT over). I always drive in Beast Mode.
- Power outlets everywhere, including 240v that can charge other cars or power my home or RV
- Tonneau cover is awesome, and because it has a slope you can fit larger items under it securely over traditional flat tonneaus.
- Bed size is huge, and can fit tons of stuff. The under-bed storage compartment is great for ice or drinks as it has a drain plug. I use it to store ratchet straps, charger, etc.
- Frunk is powered open/close so I use it a LOT especially for groceries
- The sound system is incredible, end of story.
- Navigation is flawless, I would like to be able to plan routes around the desired arrival state of charge. Would also like to see pull through charging availability on the map.
- Flat floor up front in the middle for my dog to sleep while we drive is really nice
- Sentry mode and dog mode of course are a lifesaver when out and about
- No maintenance other than tire rotations, alignments
- The cupholders work very well, no issues whatsoever
- Style, I love it especially when seeing it dynamic.
- AC, ventilated and heated seats/steering wheel work super well.
- Visibility out of the front windshield (especially with the rearview mirror removed) is fantastic, it's like looking out of an X-Wing and you can see everything.
- Cameras are high resolution, and they work very well when backing up or pulling in accurately representing distance.
- USB C chargers are high powered, no need to bring my laptop charger.
- Thermal management works well, no issues with performance at all
- Driving through deep water with a pressurized pack works very well
- Messing around with rear steer bias to do donuts is super fun
- Comfortable ride with very minimal road noise. Torsional rigidity prevents wheels from dropping into potholes too much, which helps comfort on the road.
- FSD (once available, only truck on the market with this capability)
- Glass is strong, more resilient to cracks and chips vs normal automotive glass
- Bulletproof, because why not
- Steering wheel controls are very intuitive and responsive, including the blinkers which I thought I would hate having buttons for.
- Fold up rear seats give a large flat floor area for hauling dog crates, coolers, whatever.
- Vault is leak free (I know some others have had some water ingress, but I haven't)
- Zero range degradation over 5000 miles (I only charge to 100% on road trips, never go below 10%, and usually let it sit between 50%-80%)
- I think the interior is really nice, especially with the Alcantara. Some areas of plastic seem mediocre, but overall, I don’t see much I would change. That being said, it is not as nice as a Rivian interior.
- Bluetooth connectivity is flawless to connect
- Phone key works very well
- Phone app to control the vehicle is excellent
Neutral -
- Seats are comfortable but thigh bolsters are a bit narrow. I would like an under thigh bolster like other Teslas.
- Steering wheel, I like to rest my hand on the top or bottom of a normal wheel, hard to do with this.
- Fingerprints show very easily, if you care about that.
- Mild wind noise on passenger side mirror
- Would have preferred a hanging accelerator pedal, for tall people (6'3")the floor mounted sits pretty close for my taste so the flex of my ankle is fatiguing over time
- There is an extra button on the steering wheel with no function to it
- Underseat storage accessory is pretty flimsy
- Range extender is necessary for towing a reasonable distance
- When accelerating from a stop while hold is engaged, you have to really feather the accelerator because it takes a bit more than I would like to disengage the hold so it can be jerky when in stop and go traffic doing it a lot.
- The tires are excellent for on-road use, they are quiet and comfortable. But they are awful on anything beyond light off-road, snow, or sand. This is neutral because no tire is great at all of these and they chose the right compromise in my opinion.
- Phantom drain is intense while parked and sentry mode + cabin overheat protection is on. It's fine when those are off.
- The interior door pull area has no bottom, which would've been a nice spot for storing phones or random things.
- The foot rest for my left foot is a bit intrusive for my liking. I would've preferred being able to stretch my left leg out as much as my right.
- Rear view mirror is pointless, just remove it and enjoy an unobstructed view. This is neutral because the permanent digital rear view on the screen makes me not miss it.
- The attention has calmed down a bit since I got mine in April. I don't mind it. I love putting smiles on peoples faces, but my wife doesn't like the attention. I almost never hear any negative feedback in person, contrary to what the internet might say.
- No ultrasonic sensors to give distance to obstacles around you, but the cameras work very well to judge distance by sight.
- Would've liked to have had on-board WIFI, but the included lifetime premium connectivity lets me do most of what I would've done over a WIFI device anyway.
- Hard to reach items in the bed from the side, but as someone who lifts all of my trucks that was never something I could do. This is neutral, because without the higher side heights I wouldn't have as much covered storage under the tonneau which I really like.
- Headlights are great, but snow can build up on the shelf in front of them and block them.
- Rear camera makes it hard to tell detail for objects far away. It would be nice to be able to modify the field of view but I do appreciate how wide the field of view is by default which creates this compromise.
- When in low mode, the wheels camber inwards slightly, which I think causes the tires to wear unevenly. As long as you rotate your tires regularly, this should even out so I put this as a neutral. Medium height seems to be equal.
- Windshield is hard to clean the inside of because it is so large, this is a neutral category because without the big windshield I wouldn't have the awesome visibility.
Cons -
- Cannot drive around permanently in anything higher than medium ride height
- Birds poop on it constantly, I have no idea why but it's literally every other day it has poop on it. I didn’t know of another section to put this in, but I wanted to mention it.
- No video input for the front screen to use trailer reverse cameras
- No passthrough to the bed, which means no HVAC passthrough and you can't set up a mattress to camp comfortably with HVAC inside like the other Teslas.
- When turn signal is on, your digital rear view turns off
- Wireless phone charger, slow and warms up your phone too much. It seems to work fine with Androids, but iPhones are slow and heat up for some reason.
- Cabin heat, the front windshield lets in a ton of heat (my dash measured 170 degrees during a 95 degree day). Ceramic tint is necessary.
- No Steam gaming, and no video input to the screen to use a console or mini PC
- Auto-wipers are not good, require way too much intervention, and need improvement via software.
- Rubber trim for tonneau comes off very easily
- Plastic fender flares, bumpers, tailgate trim, and taillight bar scratch VERY easily
- No side steps, which causes seat bolsters to get crumpled very easily, my wife has difficulty getting in.
- No handle to help get in and out for those that need it
- No rear camera sprayer
- Charging speed (improvements coming once 350kw is available)
- Unhooking trailer to charge while towing
- Do not let anyone get sunscreen on your black interior, it's hard to get off.
- VERY subtle rattles from the rear with heavy bass music (Tesla fixing this for me)
- Definitely need tow mirrors
- Range while towing is an issue without the range extender, especially when complicated by no pull through charging. Get an Airstream, they are 25% better range while towing.
- Blind spot on left A pillar when turning, you get used to looking around it but its present.
- The D rings in the bed to attach your straps to have hinges that are incredibly tight to move.
- The bed stains and scratches pretty easily if you care about that, I hauled some wet sand bags and they leaked out sandy water and there are still stain remnants after lots of cleaning.
