Any Joe blow can now order a Cybertruck through the website. No reservation required.

If Tesla had 1 million reservations that works out to a 3% conversion rate if 30k trucks have been sold.

The MUCH higher than anticipated MSRP's were the main barrier to entry for most reservation holders.

I am confident that lower MSRP's or incentives are on the horizon.

A number of reservationists still don't have their Cybertrucks, even though they placed their orders last month. And a lot more reservationists will still be converting their reservations into orders, now that the cost of entry is $20K cheaper.

I get it. You couldn't wait. You pulled the trigger too soon. You have no choice but to accept the consequences of your actions. A lot of people did the same thing and are now regretting it.

I'm not saying a Lightning couldn't haul 2500 lbs. if you're careful, I'm saying your gonna feel that load back there, the hood is going to point towards the sky, you will feel the frame twist and flex as you drive over undulations, and you will have to slow down. The Cybertruck acts like it's not even there. It's mind-blowing, never felt anything like it in any other fully loaded truck.

I've had 3500 lbs. in my 2010 F-150 (rated for 1750 lbs).

Yeah, it wasn't pretty, forward visibility sucked, I slowed down to 2-3 mph for bumps and kept it under 25 mph the whole way home. Riding on the bump stops is never a good idea!

I don't think people really understand that the air suspension is so much more than a cool trick or even useful for more than offroad/efficiency.

I put a gun safe in and it leveled out. In my F150, it would drive fine but you would see that there was a safe in the back.

I created a CT reservation in mid-July of this year (RN 12222XXXX). Just two weeks later (Aug 2nd) we were invited to configure a Foundation Series. Today we received an invite to configure a non-foundation series. I went to the configurator and built a DM which showed Oct-Nov delivery (presumably out of inventory). Same for CyberBeast. So I am calling it: original (US) reservation list is basically finished.

So I dont Understand, I have # RN11447XXXX wich comes first than yours, but since im in Mexico, i only have the option for a Foundation. so my question is, if you or anyone knows, please help. is the reservation Number of any use? and if it is, then how can I know when will i be able to order my non Foundation. thanks.

First off, they hit 30K before the non-foundation opened.

Secondly, Tesla never said they had 3 million. They said one million.

And then... They're price the trucks at 60-100% more than their reveal pricing, and 34-100% more than the average new truck.

Those prices are much, much higher than Tesla said.

On top of that, the long range model isn't released, neither is the economy model.

So of course conversion isn't going to be great.

my beast is vin 36,000.... so they went probably to 40k on the FS trucks I've had it about 3-4 weeks now.

Plastic is less likely to damage what you touch. It's required by law for smaller cars.

...And that you didn't support your assertion is proof you're a troll.

It's absolutely incredible that they've sold ~40,000 Foundation Series trucks. That's over $4B of revenue. Who knows about profitibility though....seems like it should be profitable at that price.

The frustrating thing is that Elon got this, but was apparently unable to follow through. He had the following thoughts on Tesla truck pricing back in June 2019:

Has not aged well.
true, but look at costs, covid changed all that. Everyone wants more to work, even if you can get people to work. When housing and materials went up during covid, they stayed there. Nobody wanted to come back down, Wages, Sales, etc etc. So Covid is what made the trucks take so long to produce and puts the price where it is. it's not a cheap truck to make by the construction of it. (i rode in a model x plaid several times and it just felt cheap). can't blame the mfg. for all the high prices, it's the employees that have to make more to live.

The reservation is just the approximate sequence you're invited to configure. You do not have to configure until the model you want is available, and you're ready to take delivery.

Tesla will tell us when they're going to refund the reservations. There's still the RWD model to go.

This isn't true. Materials came back down in price. That's what raising the interest rate did. If you're still being charged higher prices, make sure to cross shop similar replacement products.

Yeah, if you want the standard model, you'll have to wait until they complete the Foundation Series. Shouldn't be long, but it'll be long enough to trigger FOMO in a few buyers.
