Connecting with Tesla Certified Installer

Hey all,

Wondering when some of you guys got connected with a Tesla certified installer for the PowerShare Gateway and UWC. Getting a bit sick of using the mobile connector already.

If anyone here is from Illinois and has there’s installed, would love to know how long it took yall to get it installed!

Only slightly related. In 2019 when I ordered the CT, I also ordered Tesla Solar, took the solar company 4 years to contact me and yes I had them install it.

I second smartchargeamerica.com
They worked faster than Qmerit and also came in with a lower bid(in my area). They were transparent with their quote unlike Qmerit which tried to hide the tesla credit and make me pay up front for the install then contact tesla for a credit.

So they accepted the $4000 installation credit? I don’t have to wait for Tesla to release that to the installer?

Yes they did. My phone call with them ended with me owing $0.00. The total came to 3,999 and some cents. They told me the credit will pay for the whole thing. I get it installed in a few weeks so we will see.

Well mine was released I think, I got an email from Tesla saying I should be getting a call or email from Qmerit which started this whole process for me. Never got a link to my credit though. Its still in the works or hiding in the background somewhere I guess. But smart america is moving forward with a positive outlook that I have it. Qmerit verified somehow I did have it in their quote after I bugged them on the 3rd phone call about it.

I didn't get the $2500 voucher. I think those only go to the people who are not eligible for the powershare install. From what I understand, SmartAmerica said Tesla will provide the equipment and its about 2 weeks from order to delivery.

Interesting because this is what they sent me. Maybe this is the way they’re doing it now but not sure. I’ll see once SmartAmerica reaches out to me after I send the info for the quote. Thanks again for the help man!
