Looking to do PPF in black. Not sure if matte, gloss, or satin. Local shop quoting me $7500 for SPEK product. Is this too high?

I got a quote for $7,200 in Houston TX. I will likely end up doing it myself.

Those prices are little more than I would charge. I have just done a Cybertruck full body colored PPF wrap for $6000 (first one, all wrap and not cut at the edges) and it will be $4000 to $5000 at the most depending its color from now on. It was wrapped in 1.5 days and another day for touch up. I just made an delivery appointment for my own Cybertruck this Friday and it will be wrapped as soon as I get it. This will give me more practice and maybe lower my price to $3000 to $4000.

Yes, if you are wrapping right up to the edges. If you are planning to wrap all edges, prepare it with a good adhesive promoters. My customer came back few days later for few areas that popped back up.

In my experience, this seems fair from a reputable shop. I dropped 10k on my Model S Plaid, but that included Stek clear PPF, ceramic coat the entire outside of vehicle including wheels, ceramic coat inside, and tint windows. I am planning on the CT to be about the same for same services.

I paid $1800 for my PPF satin black DIY kit, all tools. And another $60 for ceramic coating. My local shop would have installed the PPF kit for $1500. I spent a number of days because it was hot and about passed out in a closed garage, but it can be done in 12-15 hours with prep.

Vinyl wraps in my area where summers reach over 110 degrees would be lucky to last 2 years.

My cost was $8500 for PPF, but included tinting of all the windows and also ceramic coating.
