My beast is my first EV, years back I thought I heard that tesla was selling an upgrade flash , where they charged you $ and then sent a new flash that made the car quicker, do you think they could or would offer that for the cybertrucks? And if so, would you pay for more quickness and top end?

Other than software updates that did make early M3Ps faster, I don’t recall software updates that made top tier S/Xs faster. There is a paid acceleration boost for M3 & MY LRs, but not Ps or RWDs.

That said, if there was an acceleration boost for DM CTs that gets it into the mid-high 3’s, I’d buy that. 😁

I believe "Acceleration Boost" is normally a $2,000 post-purchase upgrade on eligible M3s and MYs. It's included as a standard feature on the new Model Y Launch Edition.

Would not expect to see this as an option on the more expensive Teslas (MX, MY, CT). Probably the only way to make the CT significantly faster would be to offer a quad-motor version. For example, Rivian's second-generation R1T quad-motor truck, which should be available later this year, has advertised times of under 2.5 seconds for 0-60, or 10.5 seconds for a quarter-mile. Tesla actually did plan for a quad-motor option early in Cybertruck development, but apparently this was dropped.

Tesla will push next gen in the new roadster IMO. The plaid was that and it seems they aren’t going to do that, so new drivetrain will be roadster aka plaid 2.0.

we don’t need it, but damn why not? Humans keep pushing the levels on all products just a little more and makes us advance through consumerism. Not always bad, give me 1,300 hp baby!

I think to make it quicker would require grippier tires. It feels like tire-slip is the only thing holding it back. That and possibly torque at higher RPM.

Totally unnecessary in my opinion though. The thing is PLENTY quick.

Would rather have a bit more range TBH.

The easiest way to make it quicker would be to use the plaid motors instead of the current motors.

However, if made quicker I would definitely want beefier brakes!

Agreed more range never hurts as well!

Boy, speaking of confessions...ah, hmmmm...I have NEVER "Launched" Blitzen the Beast, several reasons:

1.) I am scared out of my mind to do so as just dancing with the acceleration is enough to put your passenger's bladders into stress mode.

2.) I am hesitant to burn rubber off my AT tires.

3.) Can't find a location where I can legally pull it off and I am NOT going to break the law to play or put others at risk, it's a Santa thing.

So more than 845 horses to the road, right now...don't think I need more.

(Santa is a sissy)

If the put permanent magnet motors in the rear of the Beast, it would take it up a notch. Of course range would suffer.

I would pay extra for completely eliminating motor whining/rumbling before I need more acceleration. I also worry about the stress on suspension for sub 2 seconds launch. 6000 lbs metal mass with insane acceleration might cause excessive wear and tear on the suspension.

Also agreed. I would take refinements in areas with room for improvement over even more insane acceleration, which at this point, is perfectly insane 😁

Speak for yourself! I like the motor whine. Reminds me on this....

I think he just needs a little boost of Christmas Spirit.
In liquid form, like about 1.75 liters!!!
