I'm within a few weeks of getting my VIN !!

I have solar, powerwall, all the trappings of being off-the-grid.. but

I would LOVE to EMP-proof my CT (and the rest of my stuff) but not sure if
- Its possible
- How to do this.

Any "prepper" minded people have any serious advice on this or experience doing so while keeping it usable as a daily driver?

Few years back I literally almost bought an OLD Land Rover Defender that didnt have electronics in it - in case of the apocalypse.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have an EMP-proof Cybertruck.

This in my inverter. https://www.sol-ark.com/sol-ark-15k-all-in-one/

The Sol-Ark 15k. Has an EMP option.

Personally I think one would be screwed driving around in anything traditionally electric. Think maybe early 60's pickup. Vacuum tube radios.

It's pretty easy to reduce the EMP impact, but not EMP proof.

Get a steel shipping container. Insert Vehicle into container. Add bonding for the doors and sides and probably wouldn't be a bad idea to just add a steel plate in front of the doors.

BTW, your are fooling yourself if you think that the OLD Lad Rover Defender didn't have electronics in it. Was there a wire? Even a spark plug wire? Then it was susceptible to EMP.

GREAT advice and point taken - Thank you sir.
What a great idea (shipping container) -- I guess next question - will a cybertruck FIT into a shipping container making it easy to get in and out?
Obviously I'd have to wire it somehow to allow to charge inside - but that would present its own issues LOL.

Will keep digging....

I would think a strategy of a group of protected items one could use that are stored away correctly would really only be the true way to go about it. Get all items. Store them. Wake up one day and that is ones new life.

Time really isn't on ones side in a scenario like this. Running home to get everything in the box before the bomb goes off isn't really practical or likely to be known. So being prepared ahead is the way.

I know that I will not be putting my truck in a box and waiting for the EMP. I will be driving it. Got a bicycle for post EMP days.

You could either buy a $10,000 Faraday Cage/Cover for your vehicle.

Or get something like this:

Park it in a lead lined concrete bunker, not connected to a power supply. :) But the cybertruck may be the least of your problems in that universe...

We can ride our bicycles together:)

When I looked at the Sol-Ark's EMP Test Results, they weren't EMP test results they were EMI test results, a very different thing AFAIK.

Well, during the pulse you will have interference, but yeah, no real way to test exposure to that much radio energy without a massive testing facility or throwing it into the van allen belts.

Or get something like this:

How would that even work? The damage from an EMP comes from every wire and electronic trace or piece of metal gaining an essentially random charge from the radio pulse.

You'd need something to discharge these electric potentials away from working components, between every component, not just hooked up to the battery.

Which is exactly my point. It is a futile exercise. I commend all who prepare, but I think EMP is the last of one's worries. Great if your toaster works, but you got no bread. I didn't bother with EMP protection. Electricity and all it provides are comforts of life. Only been around a short time.

There is a group that is going through society and is trying to make manual process on things and documenting on how to do them. Like how to go back to the horse and plow. How to practice surgery without all the machines. Then preserving this information for times like these mentioned.

It’s completely impossible to emp proof the ct and even if you did, charging it anywhere afterward would be nearly impossible.

If you want an apocalypse truck, find a 12v cummins ram with a 5 speed. I have a really old one but it will run off used, filtered cooking oil, used motor oil etc

Also there is no way to EMP proof a powerwall. There are lithium batteries that you can swap out the BMS but youd need an emp proof sol ark system to run em. Even then it wouldn’t guarantee success.

Amen to this! This appears to be some sort of ground device, or a GFI like device.
Crissa, I have always gotten EE vibes from you.
