I was 181 miles at 10:30pm and the next day at 8:30am my CT showed 172. Sentry mode is turned off when I am at home. I lost 9 miles overnight. Is this normal?

Yes. This is normal behavior on all electric cars, not just the Cybertruck. It’s wintertime, so you’re seeing thermal management. A big hint is that snowflake!

I don’t mean to be rude to you, but this is a very basic question that you should’ve known/understood before you ever even considered purchasing an electric car.

If you don’t know this, I’m fearful for what other things you don’t know. You need to give yourself a crash course on the basics. There are many sources for that the manual, YouTube, simple Google search, Chat.

The pack is cold and is really at 60%
Blue bars is energy not currently available due to cell temperature.

2% = around 7 miles
9 miles = around 3% additional cold loss

No it's how li-ion cells work. There's actually different kWh capacities for warm and cold temps.

Yes, completely normal, especially in the cold.

Could just be adjusting to the temp. Observe %, instead of miles.

I guess I used the wrong nomenclature. Beyond the physics, isn’t the car also managing this situation which is what I meant?

The snowflake is letting you know what’s going on and isn’t that an indication that the capacity has been reduced? Then the car reduces regen etc. until the battery is warm enough?

Yes, the entire vehicle would also expend more energy preconditioning. I don't know if it would expend much overnight, specifically. But the snowflake represents how less efficient the battery is at giving you electrons since the chemical reactions it depends upon are less efficient in the cold.

If the outside temperature warmed up the pack, you'd see that blue part 'magically' return without having to charge the battery.

Wanted to post some data from our 2020 Model X for reference on the statement ā€œGive Tesla time, they will get the software fine tuned.ā€

Our X does amazing with vampire drain. Keeping in mind we make sure our key fobs are away from the vehicle so they do not keep it awake. No Sentry Mode active. Often see it ā€œasleepā€ for 4 plus days.

Sorry, I forgot your question when I noticed you prioritize ā€œfartā€ enough to move it to your top row. Proud of you ? ? ?
